Haldor Prices

I noticed that Haldor has severely dropped his payment for treasure now that I have sold alot to him.

Does his payments ever go up again? Is it worth hoarding treasure for awhile for this possibilty?

what are you doing lol? I bought all he had + a lifetime supply of bait and I still have 5 or 6 chests of coins and amber/gems/junk to sell to the guy. It looks like we may get coinpiles next update but even so, ironically, money is about worthless for now. Save the stuff, sell the stuff, roll around in the coins... none of it matters: he has nothing to sell after a short time!

I suspect a future use, sure. But I half expect a future save game incompatible update when it gets to the 'done' mark.

So much gold that I had to build a chest and leave stuff behind the gold was sooooo heavy. Took about five trips to sell everything and bring the gold stacks home. Last night I saw the Amber is only 5 a piece (now that I sort of understand the selling screen) and the gold barely adds up. I was sure all sale numbers were higher for full stacks of everything. Maybe I am mistaken as it was my first trip with alot to sell and the number of gold I was getting was boggling and I did not understand how the selling process worked. I'm a new player just about to enter the Swamp and just found the Trader, I hadn't figured out the sale numbers displayed yet and the selling order process. I was just blown away at what I was making compared to now which is pretty small income. It seemed to me the prices had dropped, I may be wrong, still learning things. Thought I would ask before I sell my next waiting chest worth of stuff. Didn't want to short change myself by mistake.

Few stacks of silver necklaces, yeah and how did you obtain them?, they are pretty rare to find, and you had a few stacks. And yet you have no idea what portals are saving you all those trips, care to explain?

I had the various stacks (including alot of necklaces) from the Dungeon and Troll Cave exploring I have done and the Viking graves I dug up. My Island is almost all explored and I am closing in on 100 hours and I have only just found the Swamp (yet to face Bonemass). I like to complete as much as possible before going on to the next "level" so, yeah, I had alot of treasure to sell.

As far as Portals go, I have them (5 of them as all Biomes are connected to my Island as I found in exploring and left at the Biome edges) and have one set up beside Haldor's camp. It still took several trips through it to my home Base to sell everything at first encounter of him and bring the gold home. Caught me by surprise at being "overloaded" and unable to move after selling most of it and had to build a chest next to Haldor's camp to accomplish the task.

I wouldn't hoard with the expectation that the exchange rates are going to improve again. The change was probably made because it was already too easy to get a surplus of coins.

However I feel more than certain that the uses for coin will expand in some future updates, so it may be worth hoarding for that reason. With the whole late-game not yet implemented, there will surely be some future items far more expensive than what we have seen so far.

How much did you sell? I've not ever noticed his prices dropping for things bought from us. Some of it is pretty worthless per stack though.

I hoard the gold.. it is the most economic for storage sake. As they continue to develop the game I am sure there will be more things to use it on.

What I most often leave is Amber. It is only ever worth 5 and it only stacks to 20.

Rubies and pearls are good. Rubies are worth 20 and stack to 20. Pearls stack to 50 but are found less often.

I'll even leave the coin behind and just sell the other stuff and put the gold in a box I leave at the trader by the portal. <gold is heavy to lug around>

What kind of prices for selling are you seeing?
