Stone floor question...

Is it normal for a stone floor to seem like its joining lines are all crooked despite the floors all being level? Is it a design thing or is this because I didn't level the dirt before hand?

Rules for stone flooring

Pick a level and place first floor piece.

All other pieces should be placed by pointing mouse at the side of an exiting piece.

If item turns green rather than blue use hoe to raise ground under it.

Don't forget the mouse wheel will rotate the piece as well.

There is another solution, not sure if you want to try it or not, but I'll just throw it out there anyway. I visited a friends world & he had stone flooring everywhere in his house, but instead of worrying about the gaps in the floor, he filled them with core wood log beams, so there is at least something in the ''small gap'' if you will. The core wood logs beams are rounded & hence they sort of protrude *slightly* at the top of the seam in the floor, gives it a decent look too.

Please don't say you have OCD when you don't. It really downplays it for those who actually suffer from OCD.

Cringe to assume he doesn't have OCD. just like any other illness there are stages and OCD often starts off small and increases over time. Stop spreading victim hood mentality where everyone out there is looking to get at someone, be better.

OP... I agree, the stone flooring not being symmetrical and perfect bothers me so much that I rarely build with stone. Even trying to "trim" the stone with wood doesn't always work as the stone will protrude outside the wood in some spots.

ah that's cool, i have used half wall pieces sort of the same way because they lock onto the side of a floor tile pretty slick

I do have OCD, who the hell gives you the right to assume I don't without even knowing me.

You should be ashamed.

Ive had this problem off and on with both floors and walls/blocks -- it all does it if you don't pay attention to each piece as you place it. It will go seamless with all the buddies too if it is targeted right, so even putting it down in the middle of 4 others will work if you targeted one properly. The columns are the worst about it, from my experience.

I'll give that a go... thanks

The stone floors can be" tedious" (avoiding swearing here!!!!!!) i have two floors of them both suspended with iron wood and good luck in the one huge building (also with rounded walls) I Highly recommend placing every tile from the same attitude.. ie along its left side then the nexts left side and so on! then start next row of tiles check each "4 corner" it will look nice when correct and make a neat " + " use a lot of wood framing to position yourself in right attitude.. Yes i sound pedantic but when the second tiled floor and columns dont stay up it can all be down at the base with a slightly uneven foundation. You find problem in that approximate area below breaking tiles.. GL!

Whatever you do, don't stack log poles.
Omg, those are a pain and never join right. I always start from the top and snap them end to end since the bottom piece is better off in the ground anyway.

They could just need to be repaired if they were damaged.

it does look like they add some randomization when stone pieces are joined, to make them look more natural or something.. i know exactly what you're talking about.. stair pieces can create the same effect..
