Dodge question
Is a successful dodge dependant on the timing like am I invulnerable during part of the roll animation or does the roll only work if I roll out of/away from the attack?
Appreciate any clarification

Why would you want to roll INTO an attack? Rolling only works if you have stamina.
BTW, rolling is a quick way to get loose of a cart you are pulling.
PS - I've always been a Mopar man myself.

Well, if the timing was correct (and I did execute a dodge roll, so I clearly had stamina) it should've given me an i-frame, thus protecting me from the attack, right?

Yeah dodge gives i.frames with the correct timing
But i guess its most used for archers/assesains type of players
For 2 handed ( sledge/atgeir ) and shield users are far better train and use parry for the critical damage

Yeah, that dreaded backhand can't be parried. At least not by me. :P

He probably played Dark Souls. Why would you want to roll INTO an attack?

Actually, I didn't. I just pressed the key without even thinking about it. :D
Allthough I heard so much about them, I might give the first one a try, when it's on sale.

you can simply step backwards out of most attacks. Practice that as well, since it costs no stamina. Dodge is for log-trolls and spear throwers and such where step back does not work.
Dodge is all about the timing, and it can be tricky if you have any lag and sometimes terrain interferes, keeping you near where you started.

I'm not so sure about the i-frame. I dodgerolled to right of a Fuling beserker who was doing his backhand swing. The timing was ok, but he still hit me like a 10 ton truck.
I know, I should've rolled left or back, I just tried to get away from the hit. ;)

you have I frames for sure but for how long im not certain, you are prob just dodging too soon and get hit at the end of the I frames

You have i-frames but your goal should be to move out of the way of the attack regardless. Sideways rolls will work on most attacks so you can remain in melee range if you want.
