The break-up...
You are here right by my side.
Your menu shines into my eyes, and you are just as colorful as the first time I looked at you.
What I'm gonna say won't be easy, but I have made up my mind.
We had a lot of fun and interesting time together about 1 and a half year ago,
I will cherish and remember our time together with joy.
Unfortunately, there were something missing in our relationship allready at the start.
You were a bit young and not fully developed (for a serious relationship).
Over time this has taken a toll on my emotions towards you, and it's time I delete you from my harddrive and make room for a new relationship.
I wish you only the best for the future, and maybe... if you grow up... perhaps you will see me again. (Don't hold your breath)
Bye Valheim

. I mean if 2 years is some how in the realm of “fast”, then sure, Every Steam user who purchased with promise of the “mistlands” just funded their ability to launch on Xbox game pass, everyone got played. This is a lot of metaphor when it dumbs down to 'I expected the game to get updated faster and it didn't so I'm leaving'.

I actually liked it. ;)
I mean, every game eventually reaches a point where you don't want to play it anymore. I think @Gorth has reached that point with Valheim, so let them move on.
Yes, you didn't have to announce it. But it was done in style. So no harm done.
Goodbye. :)

Valheim, sans worlds, occupies about 1G of space. You can buy big ssds for not much, and ginormous spinners for spit.
I think op must delete Valheim because he couldn't resist playing it.
And any breakup that is based on reservations you had from the start is not cool. (Hey, I didn't pick the metaphor)

Who gets custody of your boars, wolves, and lox? Do you get to keep your lodge or does Valheim get that? What about your storage chests with all of your goods and your gold coins? Are you going to be on the hook for child support and alimony? Does your IRL spouse know how easy you flit from relationship to relationship? :P

Creativity eludes some...but the point of the OP is valid. When the mod community has done more to evolve the game than the devs have, and they don't get a dime...there's an issue maybe. This is a lot of metaphor when it dumbs down to 'I expected the game to get updated faster and it didn't so I'm leaving'.

Nice dear John Letter. Only reason I have my game still installed is because I have two friends who play from time to time and I like to visit with them. Other then that the game would uninstalled long ago.

Dang, original. This isn’t the airport, you don’t need to announce your departure.

Man you saw valheim was still in her early teens. Thinking you gonna start a family was a bit of an oversight imo. How did you not know this wasn't heading where you wanted. Bro give up the online dating for a while and go find yourself in the real world. Just some friendly relationship advice for ya

You saw a thing.
You had your fling.
It was not you style,
but you went a mile.
We can get your thought,
but come back, its not all naught.

More like a hot, unrefined, uneducated chick who draws your attention, and your spend a lot of time, maybe too much time, having a special kind of fun. But you are waiting for her to evolve, and grow and change, to meet your needs. But alas, she is content to coast by on her early looks, which will tire, and then she will just be a 30 year old bartender. I stopped playing a while back as clearly the devs sat back on thier early success, when they could have EASILY knocked out the last three biomes in 3 mo, or 6 mo or even 1 year. Now, the magic is gone and its time to move on. to that 25 year old pharm rep with a good salary and flexible hour job who wants to have kids before she's thirty, and actually is hotter than the bartender anyway.

It's not a game. It's the birth of a new dev studio. They now have the funds to settle in and build from the ground up. They will finish this game. But it doesn't really matter if people play for 1 year or 5, it's $20. You got what you paid for : The game as it was at release. If you don't want to wait around then don't.
Turns out the bartender was working on a doctoral degree the entire time, you were too smug to notice.
Yeah they could have "knocked out" some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in 3 months, but they didn't and I'm thankful.
