I had a similar experience with my first Sunken Crypt encounter. It cost me a couple of deaths, I was down to my weakest weapon/armor kit. Light bulb came on, albeit dimly. Stagbreaker (or iron equivalent). Mine enough of the iron to see into the next room but still have some protection. If body pile is close enough to entrance several smacks with the breaker will destroy the pile. Continue smacking and the rest of the spawners will be dead. I did have one case where the pile was in the middle of the room. That required making several attack/retreats before I could finish off the pile. The breaker also gives you knock back so it will buy you some time.

Good luck!

Body piles can also be destroyed from range with arrows. The same applies to those pesky Greydwarf Nests in The Black Forest, which can be exceedingly troublesome at lower levels. At higher levels they are an awesome game mechanic for farming materials. One of my most memorable experiences was coming across a Skeleton & Draugr spawn piles within inches of one another. Like trolls & greydwarves, skeletons & draugr form an axis of evil alliance.

When one is mining in the Sunken Crypts, have your ambient sound volume fairly high. You will be able to hear whether there are draugr and blobs on the other side of the scrap iron pile blocking the passageway. Using the pick-axe, just mine along one wall and created a slim gap in the scrap iron deposit. Doing this will prevent the mobs on the other side from getting through and attacking, while giving the player enough of a gap to pick off any enemies in the next room with a bow. If done carefully one can progress through Sunken Crypts without taking any significant damage from the enemies inside

Thank you I could not tell that small pile was a spawner

You're quite welcome!

It puzzled me the first time I found one and I could not kill them faster than they spawned and thought the same thing for a bit, lol.

No parts of Draugr are used in the creation of Blood Pudding (Blood Bag [Leech], Thistle [forage], Barley Flour [farm/refinement]). PakaNoHida must be thinking of Sausage, which actually uses the Entrails dropped by Draugr.

Sausages are awesome health-oriented food for their easy ingredients and decent stats. Once you can start making them, you'll probably eat them up until the Yagluth fight.

You sound like someone who dies to boar and necks, they're about the same height as bone piles.

There is most likely a Drauger spawner in the crypt you are unaware of. This will constantly spawn mobs until you destroy it.

This mechanic does not need to be fixed.

Crypts like all other dungeon types currently, can be cleared permanently.

You are most likely missing a spawner, in this case being a draugr it will be a green glowing pile. Destroy it, or keep it and use it to farm, your call. But as it has been posted, you missed a spawner.
