I'm not sure why it isn't already a thing. It's a staple for this genre of game, Open World Survival. Or are they pulling a bait and switch? Selling it as one thing, while giving another.

Sad. It would be much more immersive IMO and actually a lot less annoying than this damn over the shoulder view.

Foliage blocking view in combat...walls blocking view when building. Drives me crazy.

While that's nice and all, relying on the MOD community to fix issues and add in Quality of Life features that really should of been Day One things is not the way Devs should approach making games. Reasons the SIms & Fallout series are in the states they are in.

Agreed. That's why you make suggestion post and use mod or make suggestion post and don't use it.
