If you just want to remove the event, you can look into how you can disable a global key and do that for the Elder's key. That will stop troll events (and some others I guess?) from happening until the boss is killed again.

trolls are super handy for mining your copper lol.. just kite them, and if you have troubles with them at your base; dig a moat around it, will stop the trolls from hitting your builds

Why?

I can start a new game, eat berries and shrooms, make a crude bow with wooden arrows and kill a troll.

think outside the box for once. Dont take the cheap route and remove them. Troll armor is good stuff with the +15 sneak, not to mention the gold you get from them.

I am going to presume I know what the problem is and I will offer this:

1. No visits to black forest at night
2. No uninterrupted mining or logging (mine/log a little, pause, listen, mine/log some more, pause, listen...)
3. Work on your sneak; use it to improve it and stand a much greater chance of trolls not noticing you
4. No lengthy fights in black forest; sounds of fight attract trolls

All of these apply until you improve your parry and/or dodge roll. Frequent parrying/blocking increases your block skill and adds VALUABLE points to your shield's block value and the points double (give or take) if you do a successful parry. Get your block skill to 25-30, get your health bar to 70-80 and trolls will stop being a major concern. :-)

trolls? really? they are a non issue later on....

Just make a bow and a bunch of arrows. Their pathing AI is terrible at dealing with rocks and trees.
