Apparently no !!!

He made it quite clear that he no longer enjoys dragging trolls behind him all the time to kill them.
He would like an alternative way to defend a base in a different way and I can only agree with that here.

Trolls are killed in the same way over and over again, either I run away and drag them behind me, or I go to an indestructible point on the map where trolls cannot reach me and kill them there.

That gets boring in the long run.

And the fact that he lost his wolves is because he brought them exactly at the time when the attack on his base took place. You can't just get everything out of the way and then comfortably attract the anger of the trolls.

Imo it would be nice if Trolls couldnt smack through STONE like its paper.
You cant even stand on a cool wall youve built to fire the trolls from because they sneeze the walls down in a heartbeat.

I fully agree with you, I have already addressed this aspect several times.
Unfortunately you will find little or no support for this because a large part of the users do not see the basic problem behind it.

If they added ropes that we could tie off onto things either side, we could build a whole lot with how the game is right now, just saying.

The trees in the swamp are indestructible so if you build high enough not even their stone throw will reach you.

I've been trying to establish a wolf pack in one of my bases by shipping a pair of wolves by sea. Once I get them in their pens to breed, it seems a bunch of trolls show up. I have to run away and one Troll may follow, but the rest head right for my wolves and wipe them out.
Can we get some sort of effective defence ? Maybe a Ballista that becomes available with the Bronze tech that can kill a troll in 2-3 shots . We could build towers to mount them or leave them on the ground.

I just go toe to toe with the trolls and kill them in melee. If you are getting wolves and in the silver age, trolls shouldn't be a problem to parry if you can't dodge.

Just my opinion. But I see wolves as more as inner base defense with raised stone walls or trenches as main defense against hordes.

I find a bow to be an effective defense against the trolls. They want you more than your stuff, especially if you are pulling the aggro by getting close or shooting them. They also happen to telegraph their attacks so it's pretty easy to jog out of range or do the roll right past them (can take a bit to get used to the timing but it's also mildly hilarious to be squirrely against them). A lot of players use trenches and/or earthen walls to keep raids away from their walls but so far I've been doing alright with stone walls that have palisades reinforcing the outside as long as I actually do face the trolls instead of hiding behind the walls.
