*In Response To Summoning The Elder Next to Haldor" - Yup, the shield gives you a field of invincibility. The attacks are re-directed in a strange angle. The point is, if you happen to be lucky enough, Haldor iia godsend.

All enemies ignore you when you enter the field. Only downside is if you are island-side and it walks into the sea, which you have to lure back onto land.

I have taken down abominations with fire arrows, but I don't doubt ax or sword are faster.

You can't build anything inside it, but you can use it as an invisible wall with exit from base through trader area

Actually you're meant to use swords or axes on Aboms. But as for your first question that sounds amazing and I definitely think you should try it and let us know how it went XD

Also, i faced my first Abomination. My Atgeir style sucked ass against it. It hit close to a 2* troll. I strongly suggest blunt and fire and rolling. I'm set in my ways right now but because of the Abominations now added, i'll start learning maces.

Abomination is quite easy in my opinion. A good shield and mace/sword will easily dispatch the tree monster lol.

The abominations are a bit rough when first getting to them. Depends on skill level and skill of the player. If you can reliably parry them then they are not a big issue but in level three troll or bronze you won't be able to tank many hits if you miss a block.

Best option early on is to use fire arrows. They are weak to fire but still take a ton of shots. That is fine with me though since the swamp is where I usually want to work my bow skill up anyway.

Once you are in Iron gear / food level you can clean them up pretty well with an ax or sword since they are weak to slash also.

In wolf gear and silver sword you can just charge in on them. That makes sense though since by that time you are basically ready to enter the plains.
