Problem to lower sail

Did a restart of Valheim a few weeks ago.
I can't take down the sail on the boat. If someone else have lowered it for me and I am driving I can without problen both lower and take it up. But not when departure. Greatful for any help here.

It's really not difficult at all. When sitting and using the rudder 1 tap forward uses rudder, 2 taps forward, lowers sail half mast, 3 taps forward is full sails.

To go in reverse and / or lower sails you do the same stuff but tap backwards.

To be clear, the controls for raising and lowering sails should be whatever you have mapped as forward and backward for general movement. It works like shifting gears in a driving game.

The issue. Button to lower sail dosn't appear to respond most of the time. I'm not sure If it is only me who misunderstands something or if it is the game that's messing with me? I have changed the setting from "arrow down" to "s", thats all I've done and it shouln't matter. Sail doesn't come down when I'm trying to go away from shore.

Not quite sure I understand the issue. Once you release the tiller, you cannot change the sail setting. This is actually useful if there's a strong wind and you land the boat- you leave the sail up, and the wind keeps pushing the boat into shore, and it doesn't drift (assuming you're hopping on and off). While you are driving, you can bring the sail to the zero setting and you'll eventually drift to a stop. But once you stand up, you don't have control over it.
