Hearth and Home

When it update out? I saw roadmap for 2021 but updating for this game is a bit lazy. I dont know if I should buy this game now or wait one year when its will be mroe polished.

The dev has stated multiple times that they really think the exploration aspect of Valheim is what offers the best experience. In that spirit they have also claimed multiple times that they haven't divulged much of what the update will add so that it will be a surprise for the player base. I really do think that there will be more than meets the eye here, and new stuff to find in the biomes and/or merchant, that will open up new possibilities that aren't strictly base building and cooking.

Lemme be real, once they do this you will be back here saying that you have beaten that part of the game and wish there was more just as much as you are doing it now.

Yes, the game does not have a literal ton of content, that is true. But the game isnt just a "Play through it" kinda game. Build up your world, make some dungeons and so on and so forth. You are ignoring a fair few aspects of the game by just going for "whats needed". Might as well try to speedrun the game at this point :o

Well I've put a ton of time into it. And I do enjoy it. I've built castles, and moats and islands and bases in every biome, decorated by main bases with everything there is to do. I've challenged myself by seeing if I can survive living in the plains in only Dark Forrest gear. etc etc. The only point I was making is I would prefer they flush out biomes instead of working on the homesteading, and that is my personal opinion. You dont have to be a whiner and presume to know anything about me. There are other Trolls in the Forest, maybe you'd be happier there.

I know people enjoy building, i enjoy doing a little bit of it too, but 7 months for new furniture, building pieces, food...
I know its not really 7 months because they hired people later, they fixed bugs and other stuff.
I just hoped after that long i could play again with new pve, armors, weapons, ores.

Well, it is. But I think what he means is that beyond the playthrough aspect to kill Odin's enemies there are plenty of other things to get into.

Of course though not everyone is the same and enjoys those same activities. But they are there.

He isn't wrong though either. There will always be those who are not satisfied with what they get, and will always ask for more.

Yes and in Minecraft the end of the story is to slay the ender dragon and free the end. A literal credits scene plays then and there but the game isnt over past that point.

Fallout 3 has employed the same thing and so did Fallout NV if I remember correctly (tho maybe not the latter? Has been a while) These are sandbox games of your own story. How you get to the end and beyond. It has story aspects for you to follow and focus on which is good but it isnt the only thing that you can do.

In fact let me give you an example of a game that is doing exactly that, no story and therefor is slowly failing (but not just because of that). 7D2D. The main gameplay loop is the same it always ends up being. They wanted to implement a story but there is none. Its just pure and utter survival which can get boring pretty quick for some, me included. And I have ADHD on top of that.

And then lets turn to "The Forest" which has a story and the story is the soul focus and now you can see in which category Valheim plays.

Its not a story focused game. Its not a pure survival game. Its a laid back sandbox game with a focus on building and survival and has story elements.

I'm gonna wait so I can get in on all the new content all at the same time over a new playthrough of the game cause I don't want to just come back every few months and drink up the drop given (delicious as they may be) , but I am glad this is dropping soon as I know there are others who have been barely able to wait, so that will be real nice for them.

Once we get to v1 release I will be pumped to rent a dedicated server and jump in with friends once again. This is a nice little reassurance that that day is a little bit closer (though I'm sure still about a year or so away).

I hope it's not an omen that I go in for my annual physical that day - you know, the doctor grabs your bits, pokes you in the rear and then tells you how you must change your entire lifestyle or you'll be dead in a short time.

Sooner than expected! Had a good timing as I just started another playthrough in the game.

Wish they'd add that H&H trailer cinematic or a similar one into the game, it was great!

They have a long post explaining this on the news feed. If working full time to create a decent game without crunch time is lazy then the rest of us died from our sedentary lifestyles.
