It would be nice to have the option I suppose. I'm always in favor of more choices for players to enjoy any game.

So our "special" group of players can whine about how terrible everything looks close up?
In all seriousness there is a mod for it. It's not perfect, and I mostly use it just for strolling through my base and such, just for the neat viewpoint. It simply lets you scroll all the way in with the mousewheel. Absolutely terrible on combat, but great for just looking at stuff and getting perspective and scale. Hopefully its something they add to the game officially at some point.

Me too. I wouldn't have bought it if not talked into by and so could play with a friend. I mostly despise 3rd person games.

some people find 3rd person uncomfortable and disorienting, i prefer 1st if possible but if a game is good it doesn't much matter if its 1st or 3rd, good gameplay is good gameplay regardless of POV.

The main thing is, why not? As you said, it's really good for walking around in your base. The third person view is terrible in that case, honestly.

I know there's a mod for it. I personally try to keep to a minimum amount of mods, cause they have a tendency to break with game updates. *edit: atleast with other EA games I've played. tbh, I'm not sure how Valheim handles such things.

But the point is it should be an option in the game, made by the devs. We shouldn't have to 'bethesda' it. And yes I do realize the game is EA. And hopefully the devs will implement it at some point.
