Should i buy it or not?
I usually prefer playing singleplayer games over multiplayer so my question is this?
is the experience worth it in single player? I've read other discussions saying it's very difficult in single player. Thanks for your advice.

Every person complaining about difficulty is trying to rush through the game. I haven't seen one post about difficulty where the person went into a zone or boss fight with the best armor, weapon and food they could get at that stage. Nothing wrong with attempting zones / bosses with weaker gear but people shouldn't be complaining about difficulty if they decide to play that way.
If you take your time, this is a relatively easy game. Enjoy.

If you have a friend, maybe even two, it's hella fun. Solo.. it's pretty challenging, even when you get good gear. It's best with a buddy or two. There's some stuff that works way better when there at least two of you working on it.

This. Very much this.
I enjoy this game equally solo and coop.

+3. Died more by falling off my roof while building than any other way. Patience and planning really make the game easier.I've read other discussions saying it's very difficult in single player.

The content that is there currently can easily put you over a hundred hours (I've gotten to 500), unless you're the type of person who tries to race to the end as quickly as possible. I've played solo the entire time. Valheim is more enjoyable if you take your time and enjoy the journey. Carelessness will be punished, but it's not bad if you go slow, gear up appropriately, and do some problem solving or read some guides if you get stuck.
The game is not finished yet, and probably won't be for a long time, but what is there is is quite playable. I don't know which "less developed sections" the person above was referring to unless it's one of the three placeholder biomes that haven't been filled yet. The five main biomes that are finished play like a complete game with bosses at the end of each one.

We really cant answer this question for you because it is a subjective one.
We do not know your experiences with games, especially survival ones for example.
If for example you are the type to rush through things, not be patient and have zero experience with survival genre games, and do not watch yt vids read guides etc, then a game such as this may be a challenge for you. However we also do not know if you are the type of person who meets such challenges head on or table flips and quits playing.
Many find this game pretty easy as there are multiple methods to deal with bosses and events that happen.
So again its really up to you. Just also keep in mind the game isn't finished and while there's plenty for some to feel to be able to do, how the game plays now may not be the end result either.
Edit: it seems you also got the game already so good hunting. :)

Def buy it! Odin awaits !
it is more difficult in singleplayer for sure but it is still doable you will just need to learn the ropes and have a good prep most of the time and if for some reason you cant progress you can find an answer in the discussion

Personally, I very much prefer this game as a coop experience with one or two friends. You could have fun with this solo, but I think at least one other person adds quite a lot.
However, I'd advise you to wait for 1.0 to purchase. As it stands, the game is VERY good in the beginning, but quickly loses its lustre as you advance to less developed sections.

It's definitely worth it as a solo experience. Less than 17 euro is a steal for what this game already has to offer.
Just be warned that if you are looking for a pure action title, you will be disappointed. This game is about the journey, not the bosses you kill. You will spent 90+% of the time foraging, exploring, sailing, more foraging, harvesting, building, cultivating, did I mention foraging?
If you don't like building and all the other "house chores", don't buy. If you love magnificent landscapes, and slowly growing into a great warrior, then this game is absolutely for you.
Be aware that this game is punishing you hard. When you die, you will lose all your stuff and need to pick it up where you died. When you die, you will also lose some of your skill levels (where I don't think they're that important).
You need to be willing to endure some very frustrating moments.
Also, beware of the skeeter... (deathsquito, that is). ;)
Here's a link to some useful tips by the community and myself:

Buy and try my friend! The only thing, and I am sure its been said many times with Valheim is, "DO NOT RUSH IT!" Sit down explore carefully and learn the system and the Biomes one at a time and your golden as a solo OR as a co op.
In co op play the mobs get tougher the more folks are online and in thier area BUT not linearly so 2x players doesn't make for 2x the hit point son the Mobs so in a sense Co op players have it easier IF they can combine on foes effectively. But if their co-ordination sux then they fight 20% or so tougher foes per player so again if the co op is unprepared or taking it too fast they are worse off.
Lotsa fun here as long as you are prepared to take the occasional death as you learn which should be normal for the genre
(NB also beware the deathsquito near the shores once you start sailing! Its an exception that thing will come after you across Biome borders more than most!)

Solo..is my preferred... "fools rush in where angels fear to tread..." I recommend this as a solo experience...staying alive is the highest priority.. discover, shelter, food and defensive tactics.. learn to dodge and block..enjoy it is a challenge and scary if played solo in darkened room and headphones or good stereo
