I have not seen this happen personally and I tend to build a lot near water. :/ Put up markers at water's edge (just a core log or something) to see if it's actually changing or if it's just the your perception of the world being a little off. But... I mean... cool if your world is actually sinking.

Thank you. I don't use cloud saves so it can't be that for me. Don't get it. If it's a Steam update of some kind why doesn't Steam just use its normal update method? Why would Steam put a Valheim update sticker on it if it wasn't Valheim updating? Confused, lol.

I think its 2 black holes in close proximity. They collapse space on itself.

if I understand viking, the giant worm is fighting the big wolf and causing the tree distress.

Never see anything like that, but the tide goes up and down, when it goes up, it will eat some extra chunk of land mass.

Naw, lol. Not the tides. I am talking walking distances currently now about halved. And the nearest neighbouring island (bigger than mine) now looks so close I could hit it with a stone throw. There is no doubt it this. The neighbouring larger island has also very noticeably shrunk in seeming lockstep with mine.
That larger island was great for hunting dear and boar (as I don't do that on mine). Now I can run from one end of it to the other in no time at all. The shrinking is blindingly obvious now - has been for a wee while. And it is still ongoing! That is what has prompted me to post about it.

Lol. Yeah. No mods for me so far though. Or dev commands - or anything like that. Surely I can't be the only one getting this weird shrinking world thing?

I'd be shocked to see this actually happen, been playing over 1k hours and the craziest waves i've seen so far is rain/wind/storm weather at the black forest or* plains, getting to the point where small islands get temporarily covered up by water. What you are seeing is most likely temporary.

This randomly reminds me of how dangerous and stupid it would be to fall into a tar pit.

Love those crazy storm waves myself. Have a small coastal base that gets half submerged when the big storms rage. I have a chair on my roof so I can sit and enjoy them, lol. Spectacular when there's lightning in there too. But naw - not temporary. Thought that at first. But baby step by baby step it has become blindingly obvious. And as I said before - not just a little bit but a real big unmistakable bit.

I have no idea except it cannot be attributed to all these almost daily small updates. According to the change log, in July, August, September, and October there have been a grand total of four updates, including Hearth & Home.

My best guess is that something is corrupting your world file.
