I had to check ytube because the deer that visit me are completely silent. I thought 'if deer made this much noise they would be extinct within a year. ' I listened to elk, white tail deer and moose. I now believe the game devs have been merciful to us.

The deer sound like a human trying to make puppy dog whiney noises, or when you scare them, like some one trying to force a huge dump

By far the most annoying thing in this game are the animal noises. I hate the devs for it

Different species sound different. Only thing that bothers me is that they make so much noise at all. Deer know exactly where they are on the food chain and try to be as inconspicuous as possible. I guess the lack of predators in the meadow has made them less cautious.

I have more problems with the sounds having absolutely no variety. You are going to hear them 10000 times. It's painfully obvious that they dont have a sound guy.

I mean I'm glad that nothing here has " I'm Malenia. Blade of Miquella " line but after the 253th eheheh it really gets old.

The deer in Valheim only make noise in relation to one's character's proximity to them. When one hears the bark of a deer it means that deer is in range to be spotted and killed.

It only makes sense to introduce seals into the game. They already got the sound for it and then we could enjoy it while sailing too

TBH doesn't sound at all like the deer in Valheim. I was close to a forest tender when he killed a deer that was severly wounded with a knife.

That sound was much closer to how the deer in Valheim sounds, of course still not the same.

I am surrounded by deer all day long, working and playing at a prestige golf course in Pitt Meadows. They do sound a lot similar to the deer in the game. They only move away from me when my 5 blade Toro 4300 https://www.toro.com/en/golf/rough-mowers/groundsmaster-4300, gets within 3 or 4 metres. Watching them eat blackberries is a wondrous privilege during downtime.

There are so many animals at this course, that when an animal like a deer dies, all that remains of the carcass after a day or 2 is a handful of rib bones and a few vertebrae.

The Valheim deer apparently sound like a real variant of deer. The deer where I live make a few sounds but their big one is almost like the first part of a donkey bray. They also snort. The local animal that sounds most like Valheim deer is my dog, a Boston Terrier.....and yes, it fools me sometimes

Which is usually used for corpse runs for her now that I think of it. 😆

IIRC "The Gods are not merciful" message sometimes appears when you lose skillpoints on death. But I'm not a 100% certain.

Interesting, I will keep an eye out, as I'm running about in a similar area, now and then. I shouldn't be there in my gear, and have been clubbed, speared and squitoed, a few more times than I would like to confess, perhaps I missed the message in my terror, while looking for certain berries, and other foods.

Ouch, I feel the virtual pain, well that's one way to gain some in game experience, you generous soul. I keep reaching near skill 50 with a few, only to fall back to 40 something, after a couple of deaths, then it is time to leave, before the, Death Loop reaper arrives.

Only time there is a flavour text like that is when you die, after you have died within 10 minutes of previous death. And it basicly means you didn't lose any skillpoints this time.
