To the devs: Re: "We were happy to even be nominated."
Guys, when i heard of you earlier this year, all i could think was, great, another rust or ark or whatever trash it could possibly be. I couldn't be bothered to care after hearing "another great survival game available". Then, a couple of weeks ago I gave it a shot. I'm not into vikings, survival, or brutal hellish difficulty, but your game is incredible. Not completely for what it is. But for what it is going to be.
Given the work Devs put into their games at all times I couldn't say an early access game deserves to be awarded over that, you guys have work left to be done. And glorious it shall be lol But to be sure, when you're done, you'll get every vote i can possible help with. This game is brilliant. You guys are brilliant. And I'm looking forward to seeing whatever else you come up with. Mistlands, better be the first of another 3 or 4 other zones added.
This idea, your creation deserves it. And going forward, any gamer I meet that has any interest in anything close to Valheim, it'll be a top recommendation. Thank you for your hard work, you deserve every accolade. But to be real, finish it, no matter what please. See it through to completion. Your work deserves it. *salute* o7

these award events are full of corruption, the devs didn't polish enough knobs to get an award if you know what I mean

Noice Polonius. May I suggest a mining camp on a flatish meadow with a beach with few or 0 necks. We built all our smelters in our HQ, and it was a hecuva haul to cart all that iron from boat landing to base. At first we had this very long road with switchbacks ascending up this terraced mountainside, but then we found out carts can be hauled up stone stairs very easily. Even so I wish we had built our HQ with a nearby dock.
Dock? What's a dock? My poor karve sits on the beach.
I've been making heavy use of portals. Have a central mining base close to the metal, equipped with a kiln, two portals and upgraded forge. One portal connects to HQ, the other to the current mine or crypt. Smelt the ore on site and pack the ingots to the CMB for manufacture into weapons.
It works well for me, but it surely isn't as much fun as sailing a longship. :)

I know many have already voiced their liking to this game, but I must say that this game is just something new. I am excited to see how this game pans out and I am genuinely happy to see the progress. I too was worried at first, but from the looks of it, the devs are not acting like all the other copy-paste game devs or even the big-wigs trying to squeeze money out of an unfinished game.

This game it totally jake. The movement and battle mechanics are very noice, and sailing is a gnarly experience. It got my vote for GOTY.

Finally found a swamp with a crypt on the third Island I explored. Died twice going-in, built a third set of bronze armor and cleared out the crypt. Now I have iron and I know where Bonemass is (way the hell east from anything, of course. I'm going to need a longship), but first I need a mining camp to build iron weapons.
Valheim is a saga.

Very few games deserve real credit while they are in early access. Some just are not playable or lack content. There are a few that FOR ME made me really enjoy buying and playing Ea titles. The Long Dark, 7d2d, The forest. to name a few.
I would put this game with those. I did not get until that last big update hearth and home I think they call it.. But I too was very impressed. (although I do dig survival games and vikings)
This game deserves the credit. The building is fun. the farming is fun. I love to sail. And right now I am building a town. It is taking forever. (even with creative mode) and you know. Im okay with that too.
I will take a break from town building and actually play the game. and I have great adventures. Sometimes I die. sometimes I slay a troll. But im always having fun. Playing with other people is fun as well. The crafting system is good, not to complex, but complex enough where everything is not a "gimme" I can not wait to see how this game ends in development.
