Adding this ability is new content. I would like them to finish the game yada yada and all that too. I would also like to be able to play with other people. Also where are you getting your numbers from? Whats the source? So you're talking about a 2016 survey which is 7 years ago? You're also averaging out numbers of time spent in a world? what even is this? LOL where do you get that from too? Who said i don't enjoy playing solo? Lets also keep in mind, you're only stating slight opinionated things that have nothing to do with my concern or what i stated. What youre stating is "No, don't add this and keep it the way it is and you have to manually look for friends and then take the time to create a party and then start your game."

The devs don't need to waste limited programming time for something that you can do yourself with the tools provided.

According to steam charts there are approximately 30,000 Valheim players per day. If we assume that they play an hour (according to reddit average play time is less than 2 hours per week so this is an extremely high and generous estimate) there are 1,250 people playing at any one time.

According to a 2016 Forbes survey 67% of gamers prefer to play solo. That makes your pool of potential players that want to immediately join a new unplanned world 412 people.

According to the howlongtobeat website, the average time spent start to finish for a Valheim world is 74 1/2 hours for objective focus to 134 hours for a completion focus so call it an average of 100 hours. That means that at any one time the total number of players that are interested in starting up a new world at the exact moment that you want to is 4 (1 if we use the reddit numbers and round up).

It would be a very bad waste of programming time to provide a service that only .32% of the active player base would use at any one time (less than .0008% of the total peak player base).

If you read the posts you would actually recognize this is what i'm not trying to do. I want to simply click "Start" and then have someone join my fresh new world or character. i get it man none of my friends like this game. Solo doesn't bother me too much tho because it makes the game a lil more tricky and i like the challenge

99% of my gameplay is solo. :( like right now i'm not playing im hawk eyeing the "Looking for group FORUM" to see if i can find someone who actually plays beta and wants to make a new character and jam. all the people that play this game and i will give up because i'm in queue to create a new game and find someone to play with until uhhh probably the next i dunno three days LOL. which im just not doing.

Opening the doors to your world to random/unknown players is a recipe for frustration. Best to find a group (friends, family, coordinate online in the forums with hopefully people of like mind) then start the world, lock the randoms out. There are more trolls in Valheim than just the big blue variety.

This is the world we live in.

This is also why we have the option to ban people.

Starting a new MP game isn't something you should just jump into. Take your time to find players who play in the same time as you, who has the same pace and are willing to spend a month or two in one world.
Picking up a couple of randos from LFG subforum will result with you playing solo after a week or two.

I suggest to start your own thread in LFG subforum. State that you plan to start a server and that you will wait for a couple of days to fill all 10 slots on the server.
Also be sure to write down all the rules so there are no problems later.
In meantime, make a server on discord and invite players there so you can easier communicate and agree on all the details on how you want to progress through the world.

you're missing the point. i want to be able to just start a queue with a new character / world and wait for someone to join and start together.

Why would i want to sit around and try to make friends the other way? that is sooooo time consuming just to start and play a game with someone else.

Then i gotta do a dedicated server? oof all that stuff is sooo much extra workkkkkkkk

solo after a week or two? well that happens anyways on every game that is multiplayer without a multiplayer queue. Which ones are those by the way?

EDIT: This is a highly popular game. Even games like Creativerse had the ability to create a public game and ban those who trolled. I really understand where your coming from but i don't wanna sit around more than 5 minutes and look for someone to join. That is a lot of time. Time is money or time is self enjoyment. If you can't get the enjoyment you're looking for within about 5 minutes well you're kinda just wasting time.

P.S. i Freaking love this game. Like i stated originally, this is the only thing i don't like.

the solo experience is quite terrible and a slog it's a shame. this game has great bones; let's hope they don't waste it.
