Many features in this game are GPU dependent which will cause your GPU to show 100%, its fine... as long as your FPS is good and performance.. This is common for games today. I work in this industry. More and more, all of our development for game development also is GPU bound, which causes it to be at 100%., Substance, Modo, Maya, etc.. as well.. Back in the day a lot more was CPU, dependent , now its more GPU. which is faster and smoother. So your fine.

Be sure to monitor, temp on GPU, and CPU.. and make sure nothing is over heating ever, something developers, gamers a like do a lot .. Tech has changed. IN Unreal, tech is changing even more, so be ready to play games with the new Tech for Nanties, where we can have BILLIONS of tris on the scene at once..

Even though Valheim has lower polygon graphics, it uses raycasting, physical calculations, point light shadows, post processing, particle effects and many other things that other modern games also use. All of these combine into what may make you experience low FPS in a game like Valheim. In the game settings, there is a setting for Vsync. Enabling this limits the FPS to your monitors’ Hertz; this is something we would recommend high-end computers to use so the game doesn't try to produce the maximum number of FPS it can produce just for the sake of a lot of FPS, which in the end just makes your hardware run very warm when it doesn’t really need to.

You should have your hardware dusted and get some (new) thermal paste. Anything above 90° will damage your hardware

you clearly know nothing if you say 100% usage is not okay lol. GPU Bound games is a thing. its not dangerous for the computer and it gives a better and smoother experience that way. were not talking memory leaks here.

OP has a gpu at 100% 75 degrees which is PERFECTLY normal.

This game is GPU bound and its that simple. now if this was happening but still getting low fps, crashes, and memory leaks then yea sure something is wrong. but nothing is wrong here. these things get further optimized later into the games progression.

People know what they know. Simply put, your wrong. CPU staying at 100% (rather than spikes) means there is an issue - usually with the software. But carry on.

hes NOT talking about a CPU. hes talking about a GPU. are you aware of the difference? there is no issue. google GPU bound games and get back to me.

im running this game with the most average budget gaming pc there is. and i dont go above 60 degrees GPU and 45 degrees CPU temps. I did absolutely nothing about vsync or anything like that AND i play the game with Valheim HD mod. on all high settings with a stable 65FPS at 1080P with absolutely no problem.

if there is an issue, which i know there isnt. its internal and has to do with the OPs computer and NOT the game.

GPUs not so long ago ran at 120°C. It can easily handle 85°C.

You can use a framerate limiter. This game is not demanding, we're playing it at 2560x1600 on a GTX 750ti, although of course with low settings.

Try using Vulkan (launching from your game library gives that option). It reduces the GPU and focuses more on the CPU. If it got better to play, you can type "-force-vulkan" in the launch options in game "properties" so it will always launch with vulkan.

no but it fries my gpu and doesnt use any CPU it goes up to 75° and yes i know card can handle up to 85° but i dont wanna fry my GPU as i wanna take care of my components since i dont have that mouch money and want to handle things with care i would like some solution that the game actually uses some CPU so that my GPU does have to do everything and my fans get noisy af and i dont like that yes i know sounds stupid but as said i am very careful with my things

You can set limits of how much of your GPU/CPU/RAM, etc gets used, but the components are there with the expectation that you can use all of it for whatever it is you're doing. Most games that don't use up all your system resources aren't like that because they don't need it, they're like that because they're not able to.

If you're not experiencing performance issues, try capping the max fps. Sometimes too high fps makes high usage. Theres also people complaining in the store page reviews that high end GPUs are not optimized for this game currently.

its capped to 50 by itself and i cant even change the resolution and HZ

The game is GpU bound. Nothing wrong with that, most games are these days. 75 degrees is not frying your GPU, you can infsct leave your GPU on 75 degrees for one week straight and it will be fine.

What gpu do you have? Because I have a pretty lower end gtx1650 GDDR6 and it doesn’t go over 59 degrees, with 65+ FPS at 1080P

there is absolutely no solution on our end (the players). optimization and polishing the game is something that will come last from the devs.
