Update. It appears this is what happened. It did an ancient mariner sail. I'm just exploring now, sailing around waiting for the update to drop. I saw a mast and thought it was a wreck. Checked it out and it was my Karve, beat up but floating. Tough to say but it looks like it did a mostly straight line from where I CTD to a landmass, about two days sail.

you could fly to your last location, see if everything is still there. If not, yeah i guess the spawn command is the only one which will safe you.

You're boat is probably sitting in the last place it was the last time the game auto-saved.

Be thankful you were hosting the game, because if the host crashes and you reconnect, you'll be in the ocean.

Use the dev command to fly there. You fly super fast and like the other guys said your boat is probably still there. This exact same thing happened to me and that's what I did and my boat was just chilling where I CTD.

I used free fly, searched the area pretty thoroughly but no luck. Might play Civ 5 for bit.
