Question about new update.
If i resume my adventure's on map i'm currently playing on, Will there be Tar pits and the new stuff added? or would i have to make a new mapseed for it to be put in?.
Sorry if this is confusing.
Just wanted to know if i can resume the gameplay on my current save that i first started playing on when the game came out with the new features added (I got the new schematics and items crafted) just wanted to know if the tar pits etc will be on my current save :)

That's my only concern about the distance. but it's on the beachline so it shouldn't really be that much damage? :|

probably harvest first, then no big deal if it gets mangled. it'll be fine!
oh and watch out for the black blobs when you invade for tar, they are rather unfriendly. =)

The new stuff will spawn 500 meter into unexplored areas. Will not apply to already explored areas.
There is a mod that can update explored plains to have tar pits. Caution if you have built in plains.
Bonus tip. There is a command you can use to update terrain to new better performance terrain within a short vicinity. Caution again if you have stuff built at max and min height troubles are due. I can't recall what the command was, but it's out there.

Oh cool, i haven't really explored much of the map, maybe about 35% of it so far. (Only mostly straight lines towards bosses and the trader) (Done the bosses but plan on doing them again with the new food system). But that helps alot Fyra, The new stuff will spawn 500 meter into unexplored areas. Will not apply to already explored areas.

The command i'll have to have a look into. does sound like that might be my next option.
I haven't installed a mod as i do not want to screw up the files (Knowing my luck). But i might have to watch a few video's on it.
But again will have to do a bit more sailing and exploring! Thanks for the info again :)

there should be plenty of room for them to generate then.
that command is optterrain. range on it is said to be 150 meters. it is only useful where terrain was changed a lot, like in fancy bases that lagged, done in older versions than v0.150.3. as a precaution it is sensible to make a backup first, it is reported in some rare cases it can go bananas.
also fwiw, mods do not change vanilla game files. it's magic done at runtime.

Hmm i have a small farm in the plains. Don't mind re-visiting it if it gets demo'd just have to re-build the moat & Walls :) there should be plenty of room for them to generate then.
