I just started using mods and luckily I had a backup of my game. Do not install the Equipment with Quick Slots Mod. If you die with a full inventory and go back to get your stuff all the gear in the quick slot & equipment slots is lost. I'm only using Valheim + and unrestricted portals although I think there's a setting in V+ to allow unrestricted portal access for ores.
My save was a couple days old but at least I got all my stuff back after losing it.

Just backup everything before you start.

DoOrDieSolo sounds interesting on my next go around in the game.

The mod list I posted has a mod that allows you to increase both universal EXP and individual exp for each skill, as well as decrease exp loss on death or even eliminate exp loss on death. The particular mod is ValheimPlus. Best mod for the game hands down, lets you change most aspects of the game to your liking but by default changes almost nothing.

Oh and one mod that deserves a mention to anyone here, if you enjoy the sailing in the game, please try the ValheimRaft mod. It allows you to make your own boat. I cannot overstate how amazing it is. Want a full scale old world pirate ship? You can do it. Want a small modern styled house boat? Done. Want a freaking massive oceanliner big enough to house a village? Go for it! The only limit is your own building ability.

specially the pack mule love having 1k+ weight limit

I suggest thunderstore mod manager, as most the big modders moved there instead of Nexus.

You can import the list within Thunderstore MM and it will download my mod list automatically.
I've tested my mod setup thoroughly and it was being used on a server that was consistently full all the time and no one ever had an issue. It's not super hard or super easy but adds a lot of content to the game without decreasing performance. Most of the mods are ones listed here and are on the top most downloaded mods lists.

Just to let you know, all of those mods can be eliminated by using ValheimPlus. It is hands down the absolute GOAT of all mods in Valheim. You can turn on/off every feature of the mod and change every bit of it. You can do with that one mod what more than 20 mods do and it is by far the most updated and stable mod as well.

Just a quick advise:
Mods are currently not supported by the developers. Modding is done at your own risk. Updates to Valheim can and will stop mods from working. That said, mods are usually updated within days, so you should be fine. If you can't wait that long, don't mod.

I also HIGHLY encourage you to use a mod manager like "ThunderStore" for all your mod needs. It will notify you of updates to mods and install them for you, it knows of mod dependencies, you can en- or disable individual mods (highly useful when looking for broken mods), you can browse a store of over 1400 mods directly through ThunderStore and it will allow you to start the game in plain vanilla mode, just in case everything goes wrong.

Using mods without ThunderStore is a chore and should be left to people that like to tinker with their computer and know what they're doing. For the rest of us, ThunderStore is the much safer option.

DoOrDieSolo modpack seems alright, i had other mods installed on top of that which probably made it feel bloated for me. But it seems to be alright, minus a few mods that i had to remove because they ate away at my FPS and some assets were eyesores, but if you don't have problems like that, i'd say it's definitely worth a shot.
