Season of Lent. Friday fish fry. Just need some barley bread and tasty mead to wash it all down. yum.

I haven't dug too much into the ne fishing mechanic. It looks dumb and tedious. However I sometimes find random fish on the shore and my understanding is that you can turn them into raw fish with the cauldron, then cook them and then make fish wrap again with the cauldron.

Not sure what level you need though.

Just checked, raw fish is a level one recipe, cauldron only. Surprisingly, cooked egg is too, not that you'd have any eggs that early. The fancy recipes for both of those come later.

ok. so not to wreck the game... but
fish wraps are out of reach for a while. you need 4th and 5th biome for them.
however grilled fish, just stick them on your cooking station (not the pot, the frame you hang meat over the fire) and you get a decent better than beginner level food.

A recent update had changed how fish are processed; you need a cauldron to process whole fish into the fish meat you are used to cooking.

This change is due to there being different qualities of fish; higher level fish give more fish meat when processed.

also it now takes an upgrade to do that, locking lowbies out of grilled fish, or did they revert that?

I think the cauldron unlocked raw fish before I got the spice rack this last time.

I have a level 1 Cauldron and don't have any fish recipes.
