Do I need a mistlands base?

Im in mistlands now but prefer to keep my old meadows base and do all new upgrades there. I guess the only thing I need to bring with ship to mistlands is some black metal for an extractor?

Then, in meadows, I build black forge, galdr table, eitr refinery etc. Is that possible or do I have to build more in mistlands? I just seems easier to build in meadows and just portal to mistlands for eitr, black cores etc.

It's working well, I have lost parts of two crops when I couldn't stop enemies from blundering over the farm, that's all, but I don't think it's something that will or should be possible in the finished game. Irl, if you had crops without a fence, something would eat them. (Wtf do all the misthares eat?)

If you like to play the game as it should be, you might want to build a fence even if you don't need one now. If you don't create any buildings close by, it won't look like a base. My barley farm in the Plains has a stockade around it, but no buildings. Farming there has been peaceful.

I've had a lot of success with essentially zero base for mushroom and sap farm. I just don't loiter there even tho there isn't enough to cause base attacks.

Then I keep a temp base on top of rock pinnacles for getting around.

Thanks. Its not near plains so I will then only transport black metal to mistlands.

I have built only a small base in mistlands with extractor and a mushroom farm. Black forge, Galdr table and Eitr refinery built in my Meadows main base, works fine.

There's a couple things that can only be farmed in mistlands, but you don't need full levelled work benches for that.

You may not even need to ship metal, depending on your mistlands borders you can get iron in mistlands and black metal next door - and a basic smelter can be ported.
