roast the meat

Hello, If I roast a lot of meat in a row over the fireplace in the house, then it doesn't go into the inventory but disappears and I only get coal. but this is not the case for every process. Has anyone else seen this?

The meat isn't next to the fireplace either, it's just gone.

I have noticed that server based cooking does 'disappear' cooked things at times, especially if you spam e too quickly. This is certainly a bug. Cooked items also get hung up too easily if you use stacked cooking stations. I sometimes have to almost jump in the fire to get something out.

I can put 4 well-spaced fires on one wall of my small base. Cauldron and 3 stations.

Works fine every time. I can stand close enough to auto-collect everything.

30 meats? Impatience is its own reward...

That's you burning the food that's why it disappears and becomes coal

how to burn the flesh I stand right by the fire and roast 30 wild boar steaks. After the hiss, I want to pick it up but I don't have it in my inventory. of course I noticed it after I was "done".

and by the way, this isn't the first time I've roasted deer and wild boar....

The meat drops from the cooking station when you use the station and if something is blocking the way it between you and the station it will just drop and remain there. But what is happening here is that you let the meat cook for too long. The second hiss means the meat has turned to coal.

when its done and you click on it, it drops the ground. If you are close enough and have space, you pick it up. If your cooking station is in a complicated fire pit build, it can get stuck or bounce off a bit, making it a chore to collect. I had an early build where it bounced UP into my chimney and was inaccessible. Unfortunately, you may need to redesign your fire pit if you can't collect the product efficiently/easily. Also you can stack several stations over the same fire, to do a bunch at once. You are going to want a way to do it in bulk after the forest, as cooked meat start to become important and desired in quantity.

The smoke coming up from the meat also changes color when the meat is done.
