Was playing self-imposed hardcore... No mods, completely vanilla

I was sniping a fuling village... half done clearing it. I crept in to grab some flax, and my character turned a gray color... couldn't move or take any action. ...the heck?

I alt-ed out of the game to try to get back in and regain control... no luck... got annihilated by Fulings, naturally. Ctrl-Alt-Del-ed out and re-started.

It looks like Steam was updating. I'm guessing that's what locked my character up.

ANYWAY... so much for hardcore, but figured I'd press on since it was a bug (not deathmosquito) that killed me.

HOWEVER, BIG PROBLEM... There was no corpse at the death point. Everything else in the game is in-tact as I left it.

Does ANYONE know how to locate a corpse that isn't where it's supposed to be? I'm missing fully ugraded Silver Armor/Belt/Frostnir/D-Fang/Etc.
