Everything is subject to change; No one can promise that the system requirements won't change. However, I personally think it's unlikely that the system requirements will drastically change.

I hope the Devs will be man enough to post if those changes are occuring though, unlike other developers, who launch ninja patches without saying anything and you load up a game which (until you check the specs) suddenly doesn't work anymore.

I won't name games here, but one developer has done this to me 3 times over its Early Access period, going 4 to 6gb ram, then to 8 then to 10. I am not complaining that development isn't acknowledged or welcomed, but its nice to be told that a game you have put money into to support (the whole point of Early Access), is going to change on X date to Y specs

I think it will be one heck of a challenge keeping the current system specs intact but maybe not impossible. They might be able to find some ways to optimise here and there especially in this still fairly early stage, but they will be at odds with expanded content in the future, which could easily run away with your VRAM if you see a lot of different asset types hoarded into a single location such as your home or a multiple-split biome border.

EA games come with zero guarantees that they will even run after minor patches.

if it is really a worry then I would recommend waiting until the 1.0 release and the requirments for that release get finalized.
