anyone experienced getting different comfort when standing near the fire?
I placed my bed, deer rug, a table and fire together. comfort level is 8. but when i sleep, comfort is only 1, meaning my rested time is 8 mins.
when i walk too close to the fire, there is no comfort at all, move back by 2-3 steps, i get the comfort of either 1 or 8. back again, no comfort, and move again comfort comes back. why is that?

sounds like the bed might have an exposed area. i've run into something similar when i build a gazebo-like structure.

You can’t get comfort unless you are near a fire in shelter, except for certain circumstances like kneeling in front of an outdoor campfire and sleeping in a bed, which automatically gives 1 comfort without being counted as having the shelter effect.
It’s possible the bed isn’t close enough to a fire and thus you won’t get the comfort benefits of all the other items.

Place all your furniture as well as your fire near each other so their comfort radius overlaps. The radius is omnidirectional so it counts even if it is above or below you as long as you are clsoe enough.

Just depends on how many comfort items you have in a given area. Each has a radius of effect. So the more you have close to one another to overlap that radius of effect the higher the comfort given.
Furniture gives the best as far as comfort imo.
