personally i was fooled by reviews and comment sections leading me to believe that the game was a survival crafter with a viking theme

what i learnt that i was playing was
no survival aspects
crafting replayability
very monotone corporate space safe viking content on a disney level

the modding platforms are literally summarized as the following;
the majority of the players who mod their game simply looked for a survival crafter game with a diablo gear system & combat system with viking stuff and dedicated server players wants an integrated mmo economy on top of it

itll either stay 40% forever or theyll listen to feedback and reach completion by 2024

I'd guess 60%.

The completeness cannot be based solely on how many biomes have been finished, because there is more to the development than just new content. For example, fishing was overhauled with Mistlands, and a lot changed with Hearth and Home (which did not add a new biome).

the game has 6 complete biomes:
Meadows, Black Forest, Swamps, Mountains, Plains and Mistlands.

there are two more biomes coming : Ashlands and Deep North. They may also upgrade the ocean biome.

i would wager the game is 90% feature complete and 70% content complete. There is currently about 100+ hours of content available.

since they are committed to no paid dlc i would expect few if any dlcs and minimal updates once the game is finished.

I would estimate no more than 50%. It feels like there are missing things in existing areas (plains instance, mountain crop (maybe onion counts, but is weird), missing recipes (every kind of fish? a higher tier fist weapon? Dark wood walls and floors? Tons more building bits?) even though those areas are 'complete' and function fully, not to mention the not-yet-done biomes. And as popular as it has been, DLC or more after its all said and done as well (?). NONE OF THIS beyond the completion of missing biomes has been promised. This is me taking an educated guess with an optimistic outlook.

Since nobody wants to actually answer..

The game when completed will have 7-8 bosses and 8 biomes.

Right now it has 5. So you could argue the game is 62.5% completed.

This does not account for any other minor updates they might also add. Right now you should be able to get 50-100 hours out of this game depending how you play.

In my opinion 20%, I can totally see the devs taking the same path as Re-Logic with terraria, the game is just too good to not get a few years of updates before calling it quits , considering that they are not really following 100% the roadmap it means that only the future will really tell on how big the game is going to be.

We have 6 of 8 biomes currently, excluding Ocean, which will get its own rework apparently, plus some NPC stuff and other additional content - in numbers, I would say the game is probably 75% finished as of now.
