Valheim is meant to be annoyingly slow
this is a different type of game. i can see it quite obviously.
they didnt want you to spend 40hrs in the game, they want 4000+
when i look at modern games, theyve likely been streamlined and sometimes to a fault.
i like valheim for the fact that its slower paced, challenging, interesting and most inportantly FUN! but there are things the devs did that make it agonizing and piss me off.
where i begin to dislike and immidiately stop playing any game is when things are made to be annoying, slow, unituitive, or downright stupid for no obvious reasons, or worse, just for the sake of it. i HATE that and resent anything/ person that does it.
examples (not limited to these)
1: respawn/ waking up
respawning is agonizingly slow. the game can easily load faster but they chose to make it take forever. this just pisses me off, let me get back to it, youre wasting my damn time for no reason. theyre taking your time because they want to, not because it makes it enjoyable
2: sailing
the wind is a great feature but of course as many people see its VERY hard to sail well. the wind often times "feels" like its constantly working against you even though its random. THIS IS NOT FUN! ♥♥♥♥ your idea of "fun is a hard challenge thats unrealistically realistic and makes little to no sense"
make it a challenge if you want but at the least do us the decency of making it FAIR. like if it sees that you changed directions, it then wont change directions for a certain distance or time.
i like sailing, but ♥♥♥♥ me if i try and sail the coast. wind is against me so i turn around, it changes again... ♥♥♥♥ you wind
they obviously made the wind change frequently and sporadically, but they did not try and make it engaging or fun, they just made it a mechanic that works but not one that ENHANCES THE GAMEPLAY.
i DM for d&d, i dont make homebrew stuff to ♥♥♥♥ on people, i make it engaging and fun to interact with, even if it doesnt do what they want, its not a pain in the ass just to get to a simple destination
IM NOT SAILING FOR AN HOUR STRAIGHT, ♥♥♥♥ RIGHT OFF IF YOU THINK I WILL.
the pace they set for this game is meant for you to grind for LONG periods of time
i can progress quickly, but never the less im spending at least 25 hours on one world to get past the first few bosses and enjoy myself while building, hunting, fighting etc.
now factor in that i play for an hour or two at a time, if i have to sail, or die a few times ill easily spend all my time getting caught back up just to have made 0% progress some days.
wasting my time is not enjoyable, the second i heard battlefront 2 had 40+hrs to unlock characters i knew i wouldnt buy the game for a long time because IM NOT WASTING MY TIME OR MONEY ON ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
dont make me spend HOURS just because you cant make it fun and or want to force me to play the game longer. i play less or dont buy the game at all if certain mechanics are in it, simply because that one thing could outweigh all the positives, NO MATTER HOW GOOD THEY MAY BE.
TLDR:
Myself and others hate when they wast our time by using ♥♥♥♥♥♥ and miserable mechanics. make them engaging so we can enjoy the game. I PLAY MORE WHEN ITS FUN, NOT BECAUSE YOU MAKE THINGS TAKE LONGER.

I have a suggestion, if you don't like Valheim, cry quietly and play something else. I enjoy it the way it is. If you're careful, you won't die as often. It's not just about punching the monsters in the mouth and being invincible. You have to be a bit tactical or arm yourself well enough to advance into new areas. If you don't have time for it, just don't play it. There are bound to be games that you enjoy more. After all, not everyone can like the same thing. Valheim is not finished yet. Maybe the developers will add something like difficulty levels or turn this on and turn this off... for that you can follow the game on Steam to see what's new. And if you like something there, watch it again.
Always this whining here, it gets on my nerves...

I personally hope the devs go the other way with it and and add MORE depth and complexity. If its too hard for you OP just cheat with the console there's no reason to turn this into minecraft and make the rest of us suffer lol.

This isn't SAS... play it don't play it, take a long time, don't. No one cares.
I played Super Mario Bos. as a kid. There were parts that frustrated me. But no body cared.
They still don't.
Are you paying a subscription? no? then you got what you paid for.
Enjoy.

To your first point to complain that it takes what a few extra seconds you cant stand waiting to respawn is frankly ridiculous and its hard to take you seriously right from the start.
To your second point yeah sometimes the wind is against you, which is why you lower your sails and paddle but for some reason you apparently just flip your boat around to ride the tailwind instead of maintaining course. Fun fact if you kill a certain boss you can use a power to give yourself a tailwind if I recall correctly.
Sailing is supposed to be long and its supposed to have risk. I sailed too close to a plains biome the other day and a deathsquito chased me out to sea, I turned course with the tailwind and tried to run and it almost wrecked my boat before killing me.
When I respawned instead of gathering more materials for a new boat I hopped on my old raft and sailed at raft speed for 30 minutes and found my almost ruined boat still floating near my grave marker in the middle of a storm, upon retrieving my boat and my things a sea serpent arrived and I once again rode the tailwind trying to shoot it, ultimately I grounded myself on a small island I never saw coming and finished off the serpent with my sword narrowly saving my boat patching it up and going back to sea. Its experiences like that people like myself at least absolutely love.
The sailing is very well done in this game. If your boat could always move fast voyages would be a lot less tense. Again just switch to paddle speed if the wind is against you its still a decent speed instead of your answer to not having a tailwind is to flip around to stick with the tailwind makes no sense the only boat tailwind reliant really is the raft which arent ideal for more than minor crossings anyways.
The game is time consuming especially so when your playing solo and must complete every goal and task yourself (I personally have only played solo)
Now I mostly find it an enjoyable and relaxing experience.
In your case if something as simple as the seconds required to respawn are too much for you then maybe the game just isnt for you. And thats okay.
You rage of things that are issues to very few. Hence nobody really taking you seriously.

I imagine it's a pain point because one dies so much in this game. Sometimes little things do add up. And yes we both know the flip answer is-die less.

Personally I cant understand the very short respawn being worth getting upset over.To your first point to complain that it takes what a few extra seconds you cant stand waiting to respawn is frankly ridiculous and its hard to take you seriously right from the start.

A few less seconds wouldnt make a corpse run any easier. I died 6 or 7 times yesterday because I took on a fuling village for the first time and got overconfident and died in the middle of the village, and since I had a belt which increased my strength I couldnt just pick up all of my things with an empty inventory because I would have been overencumbered. So I had to respawn down some food cross the plains without dying re-enter the village and then try to loot my body while under fuling attack and being unarmored, try to grab what I could and then kite the fulings away so I could recover some more gear. Might shock people to hear that didnt work that great especially when deathquitos roll in.
Took me annoyingly long to clue in if I just managed to grab my belt and equip it I could then grab all of my things at once rather than previous attempts where I would try and retrieve armor first and then weapons and so on always dying anyways before I could get it all.
Basically the morale of that story is with every moment of all that ♥♥♥♥ dying in the plains of all places back to back not once did I even register the respawn time. I had enough time to say ♥♥♥♥, take a deep breath, and that was about it. This was a very long rant to get the point across that respawn time is a complete non issue.
It dousnt add up in any meaningful way. Even with those seconds back it would change nothing.
I might as well yell at my roommates cat for the time I lose everytime it meows and I look at it cause oh my seconds are oh so precious.
Time spent respawning is not worth getting upset over, the things that killed you and the path to get it is. And if such a minor irrelevent inconsequential thing like a not short enough short respawn time gets under the skin then life must be pretty miserable for a person in general.

Holy wall of nonsense. Don't play it if you find it boring. It's a survival sandbox game, not a MMO. You make your own fun in these games.
Have you played a survival game you like? Or is this your first go at it? They all tend to hit a plateau eventually where progression slows way down.

Everything is so slow and grindy because they don't want people to realize how shallow the game really is. Like yeah, it's fun, but it needs to be padded to hell otherwise people would blow through what little content there is and be done with it after only a few hours.
Which is fine, to a degree. But then you have stuff like not being able to travel through portals with raw metal, corpserunning, and invasions (which exist only to force you to stop building and deal with enemies that drop nothing you don't already have lots of).
Valheim's a lot of fun but it also has zero respect for players' time.

It's all relative. You and others don't find it fun, but I do, and many others do. So who do the developers listen? You and others like you, or me and others like me?
I suggest you install Valheim Plus: https://valheim.plus/

Yes, that's why nobody blows through the game in 20 hours or less then constantly complain here about lack of content.
