Also if you use on old ..ie pre mist or H&H map.. the world will take a very long time to start first time (game may even look to OS as timed out) just wait it out ,.. its trying to add content to areas you havent seen

Yeah I tried to continue my old world but it turns out the mistlands that generated on it were pretty bad. The terrain was really hard to traverse and weirdly generated. Had to create a new world and move all my stuff over to have a better mistlands experience.

I assume that most of the complaints about the mistlands terrain in the discussions are from users that continued with their old worlds.

But yes, you can continue your old world but depending on how old it is, it might not be as good as starting a new world.

That's what I'm always asking about, the most commonly the player has started on a new seed and still having a bad time. Other than the matter being 90% up to what goes on between each player's ears, it's just crap shoot what kind of regions you'll end up in. The fragmented coastlines and weirdly elevated or depressed structures exist in any seed.

Short answer: You don't have to start over in a new world. You can keep playing.

new biomes generate in areas you have not explored so yes you should have mistlands if you didnt explore that area of the map , however i recommend starting a new seed because it will seed better on a new map
