Lox getting stuck in walls

In my Plains base I've built a pen to house my breeding Lox; everything was going fine for in-game days, but then I was hit with a Skeleton Surprise and ever since defeating it my Lox's heads are stuck inside the stone walls of the pen.

I have deconstructed the walls and pushed the Lox back inside, but they seem to immediately run forwards when freed and then get stuck in the next wall they come into contact with. Their heads are literally clipped through the walls. When freed they also seem to be standing/walking on a 45 degree slant, as if they're stood on a steep cliff, but they're literally on flat levelled ground.

The Lox now won't eat or breed, so they're effectively useless after spending a ton of hours taming them and building a nice pen. The only thing I haven't tried it saddling them up and seeing if riding them clears the bug, but I don't have nearly enough material for the saddle yet, so that one will have to wait for a few days.

Any help would be really appreciated, thanks Folks!

Once I get some time I'm going to clad the outside of the pen in stone walls so it at least looks like a proper building. Earthworks work fantastically but they break the immersion and look very 'meh' to me; I prefer more natural or constructed looks, but, it's a means to an end!

I have my main breeding pair[King Kaiju and Mommi Kaiju] in a pit with a few offspring; the rest I allow to free roam my Plains/Meadow/Black Forest biome intersection...protection force of sorts and they're also my ad hoc tree felling squad.

Thanks for the tips, Folks.

I reluctantly ripped down my lovely, painstakingly-built shed and raised up some earthworks. Everything is well now, the big dumb idiots are munching on berries and mating like their lives depend on it, which they do... I've always felt a bit guilty killing my tames before, but not now. :hunted:

yeah raised terrain works best. At end of the day, because they dont breed....and riding them doesn't give much of a benefit...maybe a patch in the future will do something.

:( sorry for your loss. I think most of us have had to do that at one point or another, though. If you care about cosmetics, you can build the earth wall a little on the thick side and put wood/stone/whatever on the outside to make it look proper. You may also find that the paved road or other retexture or gives a pleasing look. Even if they go aoenuts in there, they won't break the externals if you go 1.5M thick or so.

Yeah. Use raised earth for walls for your pen. The Lox don't need a roof. Bats and drakes can't really hurt them before you can kill them all and angry Lox will stomp stone and wood walls into rubble. Even iron bars and gates are no match.

I had a similar issue to the one you have. The Lox I first tamed kept trying to go back to their spawn point. I had to wait for them to reproduce and then once I had an extra 4 lox I culled the original 2.

Even if your workbenches that you used to raise the wall gets broken and plains mobs spawn inside your pen when you arrive or at night if you are there 8 or more lox in your pen will make short work of them and you can just run through the pen after and pick up the black metal scrap or needles.

With your current problem you might have to tame 2 new Lox and start over.

You could also just cull these 2 and then spawn in 2 new ones and insta tame them with dev commands. Sometimes the game has phantom mobs. Those lox might not even be there. If you can't hurt them with a tin butcher knife (one hit with a tin butcher knife can't kill a Lox it takes at least 2.) then you'll know that they are phantom Lox and you can just open the pen and push them out. (The saddle trick might be a good thing to try before you do that though just in case it works.)
