Am i mis-remembering Moder, or is she more of a pain now?
Just got to fighting moder on my current character and boy, she seems to be a pain.
Went at her with upgraded (lvl 2) silver armor, a silver shield, a mace, and an upgraded draugr fang with poison & obsidian arrows.
Not only is she an absolute arrow sponge, not to mention my bow getting close to breaking after firing hundreds of arrows, the most annoying thing seem to be constantly running out of stamina... With the bow i can get 2-3 arrows off before my pool is empty, in melee i can get 3-4 hits in due having to dodge the breaths and dodge or block the hits.
Last time i fought her (months ago) I remember her being a pain, but manageable, with a somewhat constant fight; Now i feel like I am starting and stopping the fight constantly, to regain stamina.
I also ended up getting stuck on a crack, thus getting one-shot by her air-barrage, even though I was at around 100 hp, hence why I am venting here :)
I was at 90-ish stamina, stacking up on meaty things to have some hp; Is there a food that will give me a bunch of more stamina and/or stamina regen, without costing me too much HP?

The H&H patch massively updated the HP and Immunes for Bosses. Golems now hit like a truck, Drakes too. Even in the best armour and with the best foods. Not to mention instant respawning Golems..
Another classic example of poor development and a complete lack of balance testing.

I had the most problem with Moder of all the bosses before the patch so hard to say. I am glad they upped drake damage as it was a joke before if you were armored.

Moder can still be killed in melee. Just an FYI if something takes hundreds of arrows there's probably a faster/better way to do it. Silver sword does a lot more damage while she's on the ground, and the occasional poison arrows are good for when she's flying and harder to hit. Her attacks are extremely predictable and avoidable by a single dodge roll.

Yeah she hits hard but with bonemass power it's fine. We shall take full advantage of this ability while we still can as it will eventually be nerfed i'm sure. As others have mentioned above, Eikthyr, rested 20 or more, tasty mead and alternate stamina potions, and use the terrain for cover. Beat her last night for the first time, (2nd attempt), I had fully upgraded silver armour, and full upgrade draugr fang.
For food, I used serpent stew, eyescream and turnip stew. As for arrows, I had been saving needles and went through a stack of them and a stack of fire arrows, resulting in my bow being down to about 5-10% durability.
That was my 2nd attempt at taking on Moder, the first didn't end well, as a pack of wolves and a fenrir chased me down the mountain to my death, having got Moder down to around a 3rd of her health, so on the 2nd run, I drew Moder down the mountain to, in my case an area just above a swamp and plains border, which I had prepared a bit of terrain for, with some trenches for cover, which felt a bit cheesy tbh, but I did not want to deal with the locals as well as Moder if possible. Ran off to portal home, and then returned to fight her more on my terms.
On the first attempt, I was using up found poison arrows, saved from crypts, and obsidian, the damage seemed weaker, and my bow would have needed a repair or back up bow, had I not died.
Roro4066, I like the idea of melee, sounds horrific, I did have a go at hitting her with my silver hammer, but she hit back hard, so tail between my legs, I stuck with the bow. Next time I should try a different approach :)
Same when you'll clear your first fulling village, don't forget WE DO HAVE bonemass insanity available 1 time per day.
This thing is crazy OP.
Have fun !

Eyescream, Serpent Stew and Blood Pudding might be a good combo, assuming you're not going for Plains stuff yet. If you need more HP try the Wolf Skewer. I'll have to go try and fight her again myself but it does seem more HP was given to some bosses, Bonemass in particular. Stamina management is an absolute pain I agree for these fights with how much stamina every swing takes now.

Blood Pudding requires Moder death afaik, since it needs flour, but the others are great suggestions, had completely forgotten about food from serpents, thanks!
Honestly, i felt like Bonemass was a breeze compared to Moder, but that's probably because he is easier to continuously do hit&run attacks on with a mace, where Moder has a lot of air time.

Ah yes you're correct, perhaps wolf jerky as an alternative then (or skewer for more health) 30 30 split is actually quite nice especially how cheap it is to make. Nope, food doesn't affect your stamina regen, only your maximum stamina. The only things you can about restoring lsot stamina is being Rested (remember you can boost Rested duration to 21 minutes on Mountain level) and bring potions. Eikthyr power can also help with running from her barrage.

Yeah eikthyr, stamina potions and maybe raise some terrain for natural barriers. Another thing one can try is putting Tasty Mead on the hotbar, while it's not a particularly good mead, it ends up being a stand in for a stamina potion, so while one is on cool down you can use those until your cooldown is over. they themselves only have a cooldown of 10 seconds. She is def not as easy as all previous bosses but use bonemass power and go melee as often as you can as long as the power is active so you don't have to spend your stamina dodging or blocking.
Other than that, why don't you further upgrade your armor?
