ice caves from what i have found are on the ridges of mountains that are unexplored

I also am having problems finding the "Mountain Caves" in UN explored Mountain Bioss. So far TWO large mountains and ZERO Caves.. PLZ HELP

Haven't been looking yet myself but from what i've read the caves can be found in high elevations, like near the tops of the ranges. The areas also have to be not just unexplored but also FAR from discovered terrain.

That last part might be a problem for many of you, possibly me included because i have traced the outline of two mountain ranges.

Sorry, cannot confirm. Might be that distance though, a reasonable guess. Again, i can't say from experience only from second hand experiences mentioned.

No disrespect , i am looking for verified info . Did a new isle with mid sized mountain , plenty of Obsidion and a few Golems , still did not trip over a Frost Cave .

One detail i know to be a fact besides what i've already mentioned is that when i say range i mean a LARGE stretch of mountain, as in more that just two tall peaks.

I can confirm , i found caves in my nearest unexolored mountain from already explored area , like you said , like haldor discover range

Most of the caves are on ledges so you are not really going to happen across one just walking the mountains. Keep an eye out for a sharp pointy looking rock. That will be the top of the cave.

I think that now seeds most have a good number of tall /big mountains , like swamps because its very expensive make a full single fenris set : 155 fenris hairs

From my understanding, the actual world generation range is much greater than what's revealed on the map as you're exploring. I want to say it's 500m, but I can't remember if that number is accurate. So essentially there needs to be a significant unexplored area surrounding the mountain in order for the frost caves to generate; if you've revealed the outline of a mountain, the entire mountain has essentially be generated despite not being fully revealed on the map. This only applies to worlds created prior to the frost caves patch.
You can check if any frost caves have generated on your current world on the valheim-map.world site (you'll have to upload your world files to get an accurate, post-patch map). There is also a mod, Upgrade World, that can regenerate biomes for updates like this one and you can specify just the mountain biome in this case. Obviously do this at your own risk and be sure to backup your world files before doing anything in case something goes wrong. I've used it specifically for this reason and haven't experienced any issues.
