They were supposed to release 4 big updates over the year after their initial release. They altered the roadmap and released one (the most trivial of them as far as gameplay is concerned). I've read they've let go many of their employees as well so it sounds like vaporware to me. I made a post about this previously on this forum and it was deleted by mods. There's no telling how many posts there have been on this subject as they're likely quickly deleted.

I'm pretty sure a debut that has won this many awards isn't vaporware, though I could be wrong. Worst case scenario is the IP may get purchased by a larger company.

I think it will get updates, they maybe just underestimated what they were capable of and had to rethink. I don't think it's a cash grab.

A decent game in its current state. I have enjoyed it on release. Not quite sure what happend since than. I have played it for the last time in may 2021, and it does not looks like they have added much since.
I would say, feel free to grab this game and play it, it has tons of content, but do not expect it to get bigger or better, at least in near future.

First off, them letting employees go is completely untrue, in fact they have hired more people.
Second, most EA titles roadmaps change from thier initial plan. Especially the last couple years as the world had been dealing with a pandemic.
Third, while they are releasing content slowly they, unlike most companies, they take their time and the updates have little to no bugs.

But since most people have the attention span of a gnat, they will ignore all this info and continue to whine about thier entitlement.

I second the game is worth the buy now, if more gets added great, but I got my $$ worth as is.

I know opinions vary, but the content since release has been fun for me! But I havent spent much time in late game exploring either. Really like hanging out in my fort, working on that precious comfort buff and shooting things from high up on my sturdy walls lol!
