Personally, I'd pay money to watch a herd of lox vs Yag fight. Crank up that ingame battle music and make it happen! lol

I had about 16 lox and they got him down to about 1/3. I got him down the rest of the way with one death, but with a portal under the altar, getting back was easy, especially because I ran inside and it was the DOT that finished me off. There are some diminishing returns with lox because they get killed by AOE. So going from 16 to 20 might not make a lot of difference.

So, use the lox to soften him up but be prepared to finish the job. Wolves probably work better because they're smaller, more mouths can actually reach him at the same time without crowding each other out.

the boss does AOE that is likely to outright kill the animals, and he has a lot of health. 50 sounds about right, because of it.
if you had some way of protecting your pets... unfortunately if you are doing this for real, you won't have that. If you are doing it for fun, come back with that and it will cut the number needed way down.

You are dealing with the facts that lox have bad eyes and a tendency to wander. If you could get them all in the fight at once you could probably get by with less of them.

And ofc this is a game so they don't do the logical thing when something 5 times their size and on fire appears (run!) or the thing we want them to do (attack!) but they continue to derp around the area till they see Yag and judge it is close enough to pose a threat or, much more likely, Yag attacks them. So, like in the video iirc, you end up with 3-4 lox fighting at one time rather than 40. Amusing possibly but not particularly effective.

Is the fight supposed to be hard? I just used my T4 Drauger bow and about 150-200 obsidian arrows.. sure it took like 10 minutes.. but I didn't think it was by any means difficult.

I'm not very good with melee.. so..

It's hard till you learn how to deal with it just like everything in the game imo.

Think this is more of a 'because I can' thing rather than a 'because I can't' one.

i put a wolf and lox breeder on top of yagluths stone hand to do the same thing. :)

It's a long fight, I think I watched someone use nearly 40 Lox and there wasn't many left standing by the end.

I got 9 lox's atm.

A large enough army of 2 star wolves that set upon yag when he spawns can shred him in an extremely short time. You might want to consider that as an alternative.

Build a spawner pit and get skills up and face him head on

Cheesy easy... I'd consider it easier to just fight Yag normally than breed animals to do the deed for me.

If you want an easy fight, abuse of terrain is probably the fastest to take advantage of.
