Game Over

I just don't get Hearth & Home.

There's no real additional game play content coming.

New decorations. That will give me a days worth of playing. I'll redecorate my base, and add in the new oven. Then what? For what?

New foods and weapon balances. Again, for what, there's nothing new to kill. No new biomes to see. No new bosses. I don't need to grow onions, to get more food, to not fight anything, because there's nothing more do.

It's like giving us a new weapon to kill a new boss, but that boss isn't available yet.

It's been 7 months, and you've given us a couple days worth of new content.

Am I missing something? Please prove me wrong. Is there any real game play content in Hearth & Home?

Have you done a Fuling invasion yet solo?
Do you know how the new food is going to effect those fights?

YOU DON'T.

What you are really upset about is the company isn't doing what YOU want... and that goes for a lot of other people as well.

Go make your own game company and see how hard it is, go work in the industry and do 20 hour days for weeks and feel that kind of burn out.

I'm hoping I'm wrong.

I have an elaborate build as well. May work on that some.

But, I build and work on my base so I can use my base.
Once I'm done redecorating, I hope there's something to use it for.

Really nice base design, docks, and lighting effects. Well done. *cheers*
I'm mainly into Valheim for the building aspect, so I'm looking forward to H&H mainly for new build pieces and any 'useful' deco. Exploring is nice, but it can get repetitive, don't get me wrong, beautiful scenery at times, (I build my main base near the coast so I can watch the sea storms), but once you seen one meadows forest, you've kinda seen them all. While I'd like to see more various MOBs, their constant attention and interruption gets annoying for me. Hopefully they add some setting sliders, new MOBs (good and evil types), and expand on what we 'need' and what's 'useful' from the MOBs.

It's not really possible for anyone to "prove you wrong" because whether or not you find anything that you think is valuable in the update is going to be entirely down to you. Speculation & questions up till then is all that can really happen.

So, really you'll be the only one capable of proving yourself right or wrong depending on your experience playing after the 16th.

Hearth & Home has been the planned first update since the game was launched into Early Access in Feb & there will be other updates in future with other content. If you've been enjoying playing the game up till now, some future update will add more content you'll enjoy at the time.

So while it may be "game over" for you after Hearth & Home drops, hopefully you'll see some future content you like and play it again.

I usually go play other games while I keep EA games I'm supporting on the back burner, and pick them up when they get to a state I am interested in diving into. When H&H drops I'll be back in Valheim and starting a new seed!

Till then I'm taking a VH break & doing a deep dive back into No Man's Sky :)

Edit: Also that is a sweet build, nice work! You may enjoy Hearth & Home more than you're expecting from the looks of it.

I'm looking forward to playing a new character on a new seed and finding out what they changed in terms of progression.

This update is for those who enjoy base building, if thats not ur thing thats okay. The food update is an attempt to make the system better and more intuitive, and rewarding with more cooking stations. I have some concerns about it but it does seem like it'll be solid. I'd imagine after this will be a combat overhaul and then to continuing biome/tier development.

It isn't even out yet and there are no patch notes. Meaning you have no idea what is all going to be included. So don't complain until you see it, for f sake...

It wouldn't make much sense to give you a boss to kill and fluff content later when you've killed the last boss and moved to other games either. The current schedule seems reasonable.

For me, it comes down to building pieces. If there are a ton of new blocks for different angles, materials, configurations, etc, that can help me get my Frank Lloyd Wright on, then I can be satiated for a bit longer awaiting content.

But if "new building pieces" means a wooden wolfs head or two for above my doorways, I'll be extremely disappointed.

I can't speak for everyone, but I've spent like 80% of my time building and doing building related activities, and very little time focused on bosses, basically only driven forward so I can unlock new building stuff. So for people like me, H&H is a huge thing even with only what has been revealed so far.
Being able to build and shape your environment is really what sets these sort of games apart from other games. You can pick about any game out there to go fight bosses if that's your thing.

If you have a crack like addiction to new things to kill you might just need to move on to other games for a year and check back later on. The devs have their pace and it clearly doesn't fit your personal needs.

I dunno about you guys but most of my game time is either spent sailing or building. So I think the new update is going to be grand :)
