when I go exploring and reveal new terrain my game stutters horribly. Talking pauses of 500ms. I have 32gb of ram and 12 cores (12 actual cores, 24 threads) and this machine can definitely take it

what gives? It looks like everyone on the internet complains about stuttering in this game

I did not have this problem when I played back in february
