Are we still doing this?

Played a lot of Valheim when it was released and decided to park the game for a while so I wouldn't kill the vibe and essentially the will to play. When I left there was a roadmap and a lot of promises. Now I've returned and I see the roadmap has been pulled, the first update has been pushed back and there have been zero real updates in the past 6 months. Not sure what to think right now...

Did I miss something or is this the classic grab and run scenario?

No promises were made at all.

They continue to work on the game.

Changing the roadmap is proof they are active and still working on the game. They have been putting out lots of updates for fixing the foundation the game is built on. This way when they add more stuff the game will remain stable.

This year, hopefully, we will see home and hearth an update that will change the stamina and food system. Many people will probably not see this as content either.

If you don't enjoy the explore aspect and refuse to start a new save then just leave the game alone for a few years so you can come back and complete it. Frankly I would realistically say 5 to 10 years for the game to be "complete". And even though I probably won't even live that long... I can wait. I knew what I was buying into when I purchased an EA game since I read the store page. <actually the game was gifted to me from a friend, but I still read the store page before I accepted it>

I think we have a very different perspective on things, but thanks for answering.

I say a roadmap is a promise and puling it is not being active, on the contrary.

The good news I was looking for, that the game is still being developed, was what I was after. I'll wait a little longer then... no problem.

Have a good one

I would suggest you rethink your roadmap = promise thing. It really isn't at all. I am at an age where I know things don't always to as planned. Especially in something like software development where you have a dream and try to make it reality. It always ends up being a compromise between what you want to do and what you can do.

Hope that helps, have a great day!

What a ridiculous statement. There is no guarantee whatsoever that mythical future content won't make the game unstable. And "lots" of updates? Really? It is 15 or less very small patches in 5 months. Some early access games have almost daily patches and big updates(like Songs of Syx for example) and they have small playerbase.
