Came back to play after HnH update, I'm so "glad" these 2 things changed.
So its been quite awhile since I last played this game, came back after the newest update, I know quite a number of things has changed or added but the 2 things I'm so "grateful" for the change, are the way block works and how enemy spawn rate increased.
So now I can no longer fight multiple enemies alone like I used to because of how they change the block. I'm so glad they made it that way because now I'm starting to think that the devs are listening to the "combat is too easy" players. Its good. I think they should make this part better, like your stagger bar should get filled to the max in just one hit and they should make you stagger for far longer, maybe about 50 seconds longer so you will be guaranteed death.
And as for the increase spawn rate, its not enough, they should increase the spawn by 500% so you get overwhelmed, afterall that is exactly what this update is about, i.e get overrun by hordes of enemies while at the same time cant fight multiple of them because of the new blocking system.
Also with the new block system, events/invasions are harder now but lets bump it up somemore, my suggestion is during invasion, the devs should add a feature that decrease your movement by 90% and decrease your stamina and hp by 50% and at the same time, increase the number of enemies by 2 times the amount. Now it will be completely impossible to survive an invasion.

Or learn to parry with a buckler. That's what it's made for, not face tanking like tower shields can. Learn to Dodge. And stop acting like you should be able to block every hit with a freaking buckler. Every post like this is always from the same kids that complain about the larger shields slowing them down so they think a buckler *should* block a hit from a Troll. Use a real shield and you'll never have an issue.

I recently decided to go sword & board (well.. mace) for the Swamps, and boooy is parrying great.
Parrying Trolls and smashing them to death with a mace is amazing.
Not sure I can parry the ones using a tree as a weapon, though. (which would honestly make sense if you can't)

you can parry them. you can parry golems up in the mountains as well (though their timing is rather tricky)Or learn to parry with a buckler. That's what it's made for, not face tanking like tower shields can.

You can basically run around any enemy in the game and kite them for as long as you want or 1 shot the desquitos with wood arrows. If you choose to try and stand and fight 5+ Enemies then yea you may die. Maybe.

I find the combat pathetically easy, even now, but I find no reason in arbitrarily making it harder with player nerfs either. I realize the game is advertised as B R U T A L but this is hardly a game I play for its brutality.

besides building which get a major minus for performance, fighting multiple enemies is the best the game got to offer atm. i was dancing with a lox, 2 fulings, 3 mosquito and some greys in my last session, it was foggy nighttime and i was unprepared. nearly died bis geared 400 hours in. gg.
now i know that pack of mobs is nothing, but i don't like fighting lox so i was actually trying to outrun it, and they are clearly the most persistent mob going a straight line after you so my issue was dodging the lox while also having control of the fulings and mosquitos.
