Blueprints
Hi,
is it planned on the roadmap to implement any form of blueprints in the future? like factorio where you can also share your blueprints with friends in a coop play?
Thing is... i am terrible at building houses. they look ugly and are simply functional. a friend of mine on the other hand is a genius at building and i would like to use his houses in my single player game.
and i know the solutions 😂 get better at building, learn from him, use mods.... nevertheless, is it planned?

I very much doubt that blueprints will ever be part of Valheim.
I was a garbage builder at first but I made a separate building character and map, and used dev commands to do creative building. I learned A LOT and mastered the structural integrity system so that now when I play my regular game, I can build whatever I want. I'm still bad at the decorating part tho.

Yeah I don't want to have this option in my game either, would be de-motivating

+1 I would love to see this as an option. Would make the game so much better.

This shows you how to TRANSFORM your rectangle house, it really seemed very helpful to me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I60JNTnBHRU

Aesthetics aside, building within the game does force me to plan better. When I start a new seed I take days just to find a site and then collect materials since I tend to build raised terrain citadels with moats, etc. This along with teleport restrictions and "the grind" can really stretch out a game for those of us who are overly cautious (day 700 before I even entered the Infested Citadel) but I'm sympathetic to some form of creative mode where we could at least try blueprints and perhaps gauge the area and material costs of some of these structures we see in videos and screenshots.

I hear you. Actual viking construction wasn't really aesthetically pleasing and much of what you mention mirrors their own buildings.Same, i tend to make all of my buildings squares or rectangles. Interior design can vary, but they're all geometrically perfect (Or as much as i can afford it). I pretty much suck at making my buildings aesthetically pleasing. I was an engineer before I retired not an architect (so they are extremely functional rather than pretty). My solution is to find a nice spot to build and then thumb through some images of nice looking buildings/houses and try to build a close approximation with the tools available (at least on the outside) with maybe a bit of my own personal flair placed here and there.
That has satisfied my desire for aesthetics enough to go forward with. Perhaps it can work for you.
Except for my first house. It sucks, and it looks like a pile of straw, and it's just a wide open space, and it's full of chests on the wall, and it has an overhang for chimney. But i still love it.

@Dynamiez If you don't mind mods and are allowed to use them on your server, I have seen a mod called "PlanBuild" on Nexusmod.com. Originally, a mod, "Buildshare", was used but it hasn't been updated in almost a year. Players are posting their blueprints on the Nexusmod site for people to download as well. Personally, I have not used the mod so I can't say how stable it is.
PlanBuild:
https://www.nexusmods.com/valheim/mods/1125
Edit: I apologize I didn't read all of your post and see you already know about it.

I have almost 800 hours in this game and I would say about 70-80% of that time is base building.
Blueprints would speed things up but then honestly who would care about this game anymore? Once you beat all the biomes you'll just quit.
The best part of the game is exploring a new location in some far off place on the map and building yourself a foothold there.

and if you balance around people having access to them, it will ruin the game for everyone else who doesn't use them.
Okay okay, it was just a question. no need to be an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. and why would it "destroy" the game? XD its kind of funny how a simple question or feature in a game YOU dont even have to use "destroys" a game... is it possible you are a drama queen? or do you mean it for real? like adding this feature to this game would destroy the source code and the game wouldnt be available afterwords, never again? then okay, this would be the only (the ONLY) way your post would make any sense and i would apologize.
I didn't jump down your throat, I expressed my opinion. It's not my fault you didn't read my very first sentence before knee-jerking because someone didn't agree with you. I wasn't even impolite, but here you are attacking me for having an opposing opinion?
and because i know there is already a mod for this feature, is the game already destroyed? or is it now half destroyed? i dont know... can other people still play the game? please, enlighten me.
Now who's being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? Sarcasm and facetiousness aside, I couldn't care less about mods; existing or future - they only apply to those who use them. I'm talking about the vanilla game. If the devs add blueprints, it will become mandatory to use them... because the game will be structured to account for their existence.
If you can't understand the game balance issues adding blueprints would introduce, that's a you problem. Don't try to make the game that I enjoy into even more of a nightmare cluster because you can't figure out how to throw down walls, floors, and roofs in a fashion you feel is "aesthetically pleasing".
Git gud, or cheat. As has already been stated, the mods exist. Use them.
You're welcome to play your game your way, but don't try to force yourself on everyone else... that just makes you the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

I like the idea of blueprints, but only for small parts. I wont count the number of times I've thrown some pieces together in a particularly pleasing arrangement in one build then moved on to another only to get to a point where I'd say 'wait how did I do that again?' Thanks poor memory lol. It would also be good for large builds that have some repeating sections, just to remove some tedium. Blueprinting entire builds tho feels like a bad move. It could lead to laziness, sure I built an entire city in an afternoon but most of those buildings are just copies and some aren't even rotated.
To expand. Blueprinting parts would allow you to recreate entire builds, viking house corner a, corner b, c, hearth, flat roof part 1 2 etc. But in the middle of putting those prefabs together you might stop and think 'hey this would look really cool if i put a tower in this roof, oh how to get up it tho, i don't have a spiral staircase.' 10 mins later you make that staircase and add it to your library. Whereas blueprinting the entire build would be bad as then you'd just put it down and pay it no second thought. I know this as I've done both. I have used other peoples blueprints in games before, I've put them down then looked at them thought 'yeah looks good' and then moved on.

Plea to the devs: please do not ruin this game with blueprints; there's no need for them, and if you balance around people having access to them, it will ruin the game for everyone else who doesn't use them.
There's no good reason, neither for the lore nor in the gameplay.
To the OP: If you want blueprints, go play the factory games... where they make sense. Factorio, Satisfactory, Dyson Sphere Program...
Otherwise, I'm on the "git gud" team for the first time... ever. Follow your own advice, and get better. Learn to build, or at least learn to copy those who can. Blueprints would absolutely destroy this game.

You don't need the outside to look good. To a true Viking, all his buildings will look good.
Besides, there's a blueprint mod. Ignore the gatekeepers and do what you want.
