What is Mistlands?
I've been exploring with a friend on a longboat, trying to find the base of one of Yggdrasils roots, cause why not. We just entered the Mistlands, and I'm wondering how we're goiong to die here. In other words, I want to know what dangers lie ahead.
Also, my friend is wondering if theres a waterfall at just the edge of the world XD.

Lol we did it, and I didn't realize my friend had cheats on. He was hosting the world, and happened to have godmode on, and survived the fall. I ended up watching his broadcast, and he was literally just gliding on the seafloor, occasionally being attacked by Surtlings, and was literally unable to do anything. Soon enough his game crashed though, but it was fun. XD

Mistlands is an area that has not been released yet. So fortunately, no death awaits you there (for now).
At the edge of the world is death. You can 100% sail off the edge. If you want to check it out, take off anything you care about because you won't be able to recover your gear after you go over.

Lol ok I'm going to try it out. We have portals that we nee to hook up, and we just found a black forest so we'll use that as a small camp and go naked over the edge.

Unfortunately it's not an epic plummet with time to look around in awe, the region outside the map kills you just for being there so you barely see the rimfall. Gotta use cheat modes to get good selfies.
