I may have the worst luck, but I find that getting the Spice rack is more difficult: it always takes me forever to find a swamp that has turnip seeds. Killing Draugr in comparison is very easy.
I had far more trouble finding onion seeds in the mountains than finding turnip seeds in the swamps. The first 6 abandoned buildings I found in the mountains had no seeds in the chests. I had to travel 2 islands away from my start area to find my first 3 onion seeds.

I still don´t get why we have to use the intestines of the undead when there are perfectly healthy animals everywhere. Quite gross tbh. Sorry for the offtopic.

Wait till you get to drink ooze in a muckshake or eat Graydwarf eyeballs in Eyescream. I bet you don't think twice about using blood bags (giant leech guts) in black soup or blood pudding or fermenting those same leech guts to make healing meads.

(The reason those are the ingredients is twofold. 1 - you are in Viking purgatory and must do what you can to survive. 2 - The devs want you to be in at least a little danger fighting tougher mobs to get better foods since your health is based on foods in this game instead of increased skill or levels.)

You are free to skip the foods you find disgusting and move along to eating pies baked from lizard bison haunch (lox), barely flour, and cloud berry (which is a IRL berry found in boreal forests and tundra).

The food changed with Hearth and Home update.

There are a number of food upgrade items now.
Sausages are now locked behind turnips and the spice rack upgrade
Serpent stew is locked behind Iron and chain to cook it.
New food like wolf and ice need silver.

Boar Meat IS Raw Meat. To make sausages you need 4 Draugr Entrails, 1 Boar Meat, and 1 Thistle.

First You need to get to the swamp and get some Turnip seeds before you can actually make sausages. You have to make a "spice rack" which needs 2 Turnips to craft. The rack will upgrade your Cauldren to rank 2 and let you actually make sausages.

I believe the recipie for sausages will unlock once you pick up some Drauger entrals but you will need that space rack before you can use it. As TheBoot mentioned above you'll also need some Thistle.

Good hunting

Raw Boar Meat, Thistle, Entrails> Build Forge (Copper, Stone, Wood, Coal)> Build Cauldron (10 Tin) > Upgrade Cauldron > Spice Rack (Dandelions, Thistle, Mushrooms, Carrots, Turnips) > Take Boar Meat, Thistle & Entrails, unlock & cook Sausages.
