How to stop a raid or Load a previous save

Hello i normally enjoy the raid however i am 80 days in and have spent hours and hours making my base, i have just got cornered by two trolls no food or weapons as i was building. After being cornered i can not even get back to my things i have died 9 times now my whole base is smash up completely and i have spawned miles away now. Any help would be appreciated thanks

The game does keep backups of old saves.
Standard path is
C:\Users\*currentuser*\AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim
for local saves.

Option 2 is to use console commands to get your stuff back

If cheating aint your thing you can use option 3 and get a friend to join your game and kill the trolls.

Put workbenches around your base to prevent spawning inside your moat. I usually carry a small beam blueprint around so it will show me the craft radius. That way I can make sure there are no spots that aren't covered. After I have the whole area covered, I replace the workbenches that I don't want with campfires. Campfires will do the same thing, but they're less likely to get broken when the mobs throw things. They don't have to be lit to work.

As for the current raid, you have to be inside the red circle for two minutes to get it to end. Run around as much as you want, but stay inside the circle. Since the trolls are inside the moat, you can sprint jump across (if it's only one square wide) or down one side and up the other. The trolls can't follow you across it, assuming there is still space inside the red circle for you to be on the outside. Then you can finish them off with a bow when the raid ends. That's what the moat is for after all.

Im sorry for your loss, the troll raid is the worst.

You could try to get some dogos to help defend. Good thing too is you can tame wolves early.

Do you save on the cloud or local? Either way your backups are under AppData\LocalLow\IronGate\Valheim

Either worlds or worlds_local

Got any friends that play? Invite one into your world to save the day. I'd make sure it's a trusted friend vs some random as griefing is possible and certainly undesirable.

That said, I'd join and help...you can trust me...honest...

Get close to your base but keep distance to the trolls. Let them follow you a few hundreds meters away from your base, hide, and go back to your base. This worked for me and trolls stayed away

The troll raid event only lasts two minutes or so. Get back to the trolls and have a look at the minimap. Stay within the red circle and either shoot the trolls with fire arrows or just kite them until the event timer runs out. After that they should move away and despawn. They should also be focused on you, so you can lead them away from your buildings.

I Had work benches all around, This is my 2nd playthrough now, Its funny the area inside the mote wasnt very big after i extended my base and the trolls couldnt escape even when the raid was over.
My mistake was to plant trees about 20 of them around the base, so each troll then picked up a tree. I will try and upload a screen shot of the damage its a mess.
Even though i was mad at the time and my heart sunk after spending most of the day/week making everything look pretty inside, i look back at it and think i will just build back bigger and better i did not loose anything it was just all on the ground, every chest was smashed open. Took me around a hour and a half to just get lucky enough to grab my stuff and food then i could kill the trolls. Only died about 35 times remaining alive for around 2-4 seconds each time. Got a bit made when my bed broke i had a long run each time then.

I could not kite them due to my mote i was building and smashed the bridge up. Its was the worst timing ever. Even after the raid finished they had no where to go or escape so just kept swinging. I managed to build a work bench and little bridge after i spawned away from the base grab my stuff by rolling then take them down with arrows. Anyway i wanted to change things around abit.
