Hp and Stamina reg over long play seem to drop off
I been playing in area to build an outpost between mountain and swamp (for bone mass). During that time, I keep get attacked and and few things killed me. When I was trying raise my skills that I lost on grey dwarves nest. I been keeping rested up all the time. After a while and few more deaths from getting swarmed. I notice my hp and stamina reg was slower even out of combat during the day. Been get swarmed or in combat running out of stamina to fight or run. Does not help that the landscape is catching me a lot too, running hills that I slide down, or get knocked in the water while mobs attack normal and I have to swim and be slow leaving the water. How I noticed stamina reg was slow during the day...running from portal in the meadow to the grey dwarves nest. Had 115 stamina that was slow to recharge with rested and no debuffs up. Rested bonus should cancel out the cold debuff but at times felt like the rested bonus was not working right.
For this area and only place I found bone mass so far. The island has the following biomes...meadows which is close to plains, black forest, mountain. The lox and furlings keep chasing after wildlife or grey dwarves then come after me when logging away from them.
The area that is close to bone mass had old stone tower in black forest (thin strip in the middle) while mountains on one side while swamp on the opposite side. Grey dwarves by the ton (almost like nest spawn), wolves/drake ( got the combo at the same time), hordes of swamp critters. 2-4 group size. 4 skeletons, 2-3 grey dwarves and deer or two at once. Sometimes follow up by druagr and blobs all with wet debuff from the swamp.

there is no difference for in combat or out of combat, and why are you now talking about hp when this is about stamina regen? nothing on the page was referring to hp regen

Night is not a good idea to be out if you're still learning the game. Jus' sayin'...
I mean, the game even tells you that.

I did some tests. Food that does 5 hp per minute. Day time rested you get 7.5 hp. Night time with rested bonus but cold debuff you get 3.8 hp per min. This also goes for stamina reg. Since the game is not finished, wiki at can be helpful while other times is useless. I played games were wiki was good then stuff changed in game which made the wiki useless and wrong info listed.
Night time is not the issue. I can go in swamps and kill leeches and wraiths without a second thought. For wraith is parry dagger=quick death before second attack. Getting groups of monsters is hard to get hp/stamina trying to run away.

Hp regen depends on what food you eated ...not just rested ans resting bonus - cold/wet I did some tests. Food that does 5 hp per minute. Day time rested you get 7.5 hp. Best stamina food that gives well hp regen are turnip stew and carrot soup ( 2hp/s each )
Hp food for hp regen serpent stew and lox pie ...( 4 hp/s each )

Ehm nop , thats happen with RestING effect ( the zzz icon when you are near a fire source that gives a lot of regen ) , not rested effect The rested bonus does NOT apply when your character is wet and you automatically lose it until you're dry again. That includes rain, falling/jumping into a body of water or entering the Swamp biome where it's constantly raining. Annoying because it keeps ticking down but easy enough to rebuff with a 20 second sit next to a fireplace once you're in a dry area. The only way to counter this is to make as high-scoring food as you can and balance your health and stamina, particularly for the Swamp.
If you want to run a mod, Epic Loot is a good one as you can score waterproof armour and "feather fall" armour which does what it sounds like.
Regarding swarms while you're busy, logging/mining draws attention to you, hence the swarms.
Anyhoozles... as for the rest of your post.... The only answer is get good. Learn to take better notice of your surroundings before engaging or being distracted by things like logging if you're near a high-level biome that you aren't prepared for or kite mobs to a clearer area to fight.
Good luck!
Wet just debuffs you for -15% stam regen , when rested buff gives you a 100% regen ... So not even negate the entire effect being wet

Bigger stamina bars seem slower to refill than small ones. Cold effect feels like it is blocking the rested effect. The reg hp/stamina potions seem the timers bit low vs resist potions. Out of combat reg and in combat reg I feel it is different and slower.
Fighting other types of biome monsters attract monsters. Fighting grey dwarves, I have noticed pull these other monsters that were not in the area. Fighting in black forest areas.

That talks about not in combat. Talks attacking and blocking. The values I think are way off. If you had 2 food items and total 3 hp per minute, in cold debuff you get 1.5 hp per minute not 0.75 like wiki says. I do not watch my hp reg numbers while in combat only my hp bar. Standing near fire might seem good, easy to get flanked or fire attack.
Find a group of 2 1 star brutes, 2 shamans normal/1 star, 2 normal grey dwarves, then see how your reg goes with rested and cold buffs up. With root armor to reduce your running. That was nest at night with normal spawns at the same time with nest spawning.

Food buffs slowly decrease over time until they run out or you eat again. If you are doing something strenuous eat again as soon as they start to blink, about halfway through their timer.
