I am in need of advice. Swamp biome.

So I have the best copper gear. best food I can make. Yet I keep dying. I am using stam and Poison resist potions. Yet I keep getting "swamped" by multiple mobs at the same time. So I enabled the god mode and wow they kept me form swinging back as they hit me and my stamina drops like rain fall. No stam can not hit back. My sword skill was at 66 now down to 54. I find it hard to kill the multiple mobs even being in god mode.

What are you folks doing to make it in and out alive? I while in god mod got a suit of iron armor and iron sword and tried with the same results just getting mobbed by multiple enemies that just pummel my hps and stam down to nothing.

I cant run away most the time as the terrain prevents that. I have watch some YouTube videos but nothing seems to help.

My strategy is to run around being terrified until I do that enough to have full iron. After that I am slightly less scared, but then I get silver so I am not scared anymore but become overconfident and die. So basically, just be scared and run around and it will eventually work out fine.

I forget, or didn't know, that heavier armor could drain Stamina faster; I usually only think of it in terms of how much it reduces my movement speed per equipment piece, and I like to go Fast, haha.
Actually I believe your assessment is more accurate. Light armor does penalize speed less than heavy and I had assumed that would drain stamina less but will need to fact check myself on that.

Aye not only is the Hoe your best strategic/ahead of time planning terrain friend, but OctoberSky has a point that I take for granted: how are your Run and Jump skill? I favor spear and skirmish tactics, so I tend to just eat 3 Stam foods and avoid being hit and leave the swamp as soon as my rested bonus has about a minute left. I always build a fall-back camp nearby before I go into a new area so I can keep that bonus and clear inventory regularly. The swamp is a wonderful place for items and recipe farming once you stop dying there; nothing the leeches can do when I decide it's time for some Spear [center mouse button] Fishing :)

Let's add in block skill. Since you listed copper (I think you mean bronze) armor then you are trending toward melee combat and you may have some issues with parry skill on the bronze buckler. Perhaps consider an initial approach in a new biome where you use lighter weight armor like troll armor and range weapon tactics until you can build that next level of heavy armor and parry with the iron buckler. Light armor may be more squishy but will drain stamina less. Plus the troll armor can give your sneak skill a boost and that can also help you approach and snipe those swamp spawners.

The swamp isn't actually that hard, if you don't go after spawners early on and keep room to maneuver.

Bronze armor at level 3, a wood shield at level 3 and carrot soup, deer stew and minced meat sauce for food is plenty. Maybe carry a health potion with you for backup.

When you're fresh out of the Black Forest it is important to single out enemies and try to fight them 1 on 1. Keep running away if they gang up on you and use your bow to fire at enemies further away.

Wait for enemies to attack you and parry with with your shield. This will briefly stagger them and cause extra damage if you hit them. If you get overwhelmed block with your shield and try to get some distance.

A bronze sword at level 3 works very well, but for Bonemass you might want to use a bronze or iron mace early on. Using a sword against Bonemass will make the boss fight harder.

Once you got your first iron I'd craft a banded shield asap. Blocking and parrying makes the swamp a lot easier.

When you found turnip seeds, upgraded your cauldron with a spice rack and crafted some iron armor everything will go even smoother.

Lastly don't go into the swamp at night and make sure to always have your rested bonus. This is very important because otherwise you will be out of stamina constantly and it will take ages to recover, especially with the wet effect you will have in the swamp.

Atgeir is your friend in these situations. Or the sledge or even the stagbreaker though that doesn't do enough damage to really slow larger mobs.
Also having a stamina potion on your equipment bar ensures you can take that mob clearing swing attack.

I didn't have much issue getting swarmed, didn't allow the enemies to bunch up enough to do it. Went through the place sneaking with the finewood bow sniping anything in sight and used the bronze mace to take out any skeles or draugr that got close. Well thinking back there were a couple times were i got unlucky and got a big group on me, first time killed me, second time played ring around the rosie with a tree just walking back to get them in a line so i could turn whack one then go back to circling. Third time managed to get ontop of a big fallen log, nothing could hit me up there.

All in all you want to take it slow, be methodical, and find a safe enough route through that place. By that I mean avoid having to go through large pools of water and maybe setup some wooden floor panels between bits of land that have enough water between to slow you. Also take out mob spawners soon as you see 'em they're often too dangerous there to bother keeping as a farm.

just keep kiting and picking off one at a time. or just get your stuff and leg it and go to another swamp and approach it from a blackforest so you can slowly gain ingress, never land your boat in the swamp. maybe take a hoe to try level ground so its not so deep in spots and have a more pathway made. try range attack most stuff and take care of enemies quickly as possible to avoid gangs forming. only travel during the day.

Move forward more slowly, so you don't aggro huge groups. Fight things one at a time if at all possible.

Use the stagbreaker or atgeir, for AoE attacks with knockback.

Use the hoe to level ground, so you don't have to slog through deep water. This also helps avoid leeches.

Stay out of the swamp at night; the cold and wet debuffs both nerf your stamina regen... and they stack.

Stam should never be a Problem. You can easily regenerate by just kiting Mobs via Walking. 1 or 2 Star Draugr with Bows are the real Problem, so try killing them from Distance with a Bow. Anything else you just let come to you, wait for them to strike, then parry and finish them off.

Shield and Poison Potion are important, as is good food. 2x Health and 1 Stam.

Never run into the Mobs and start swinging, because then they 100% get their hits in. Always isolate, parry, then combo finish. Make sure you are rested too. Valheim is all about preparation.

The Hoe is your best friend, flattern the terrain.
Built here and there some workbenches, maybe on trees, to prevent them from spawning.

What I did is, i installed this mod to make it even more difficult.

On that note, you can build roof sections off of trees to shelter the workbench... and a campfire. If stamina is the issue, being rested can make a huge difference.

Perhaps you could share what that is? Have you located a turnip flower yet? What is your resting level? How much drain do you experience from the wet environment of the Swamp? You listed your sword skill, how about your run and jump level and have you used the Eikthyr blessing to conserve run stamina?
