New zones/biomes are always added to your world, they're just added in the unexplored areas. You'll be fine. Character progression isn't tied to your world, it's in a separate 'save' file, this is why you can move things between worlds for convenience. Additionally, none of the updates have wiped any world, it's not something you have to worry about. Unless you play on a dedicated server that isn't under your control, the owner could wipe it if they want.

It's early access so I wouldn't get emotionally attached to anything you do in the game. Anything could change, worlds could become obsolete, etc.

I would say you can encounter most lands generally in the last 3rd of the perimeter of the disk.

Will the mistlands areas be located only at the edges of the world?
If so, I have not explored that far and I plan to keep my current world because the vast majority of its area is still unexplored, even after I've killed all the bosses.

Not on my newest character, no. i havent even beaten yagluth yet as i figured it'd be a great warm up to get back into the game by fighting big goblin skeleton.

On our dedicated server we won’t because a guy likes his buildings which is cool. But personally I’m going to start a need seed for my Viking. Maybe we will start a new seed.

I always wipe my Viking, and world per update.

No. (But keep in mind that you might still have to start a fresh new world for all new content to appear!)

I want to enjoy mistlands content, so yeah, I'll be doing a new character and world

I'll likely devcommand the new world until I am caught up to where I was, though...
