I have beaten Eikthyr, the Elder, and Bonemass. I built my home base on the sea shore. A rough rectangle with sea shore on one side and walls with gates on the other three sides.

My home base has been raided by every enemy generated by the story or events from the Meadows, Dark Forest, and Swamp biomes. None of them have attacked the walls and gates while I am inside; their pathing algorithms seem to favor swimming or wading around the walls where they terminate at the waterline. Can't keep them out but I know they will be coming from only two places.

I have silver and have killed wolves and drakes; I'm facing Mountain biome enemy raids now. I haven't been "hunted" yet but the "cold wind" has blown. Can't say what the wolves will do but the drakes fly in from all sides.

I decided to limit the drakes' access by planting trees just outside the walls. No enemy I know or have heard about climbs trees so I don't believe they will be used as a path over the walls. The trees will, I think, make the drakes come closer to breathe ice at me and limit their opportunities to catch me in a crossfire.

I'll let you know if I get any benefit besides a lot of drake-smashed free logs and wood.
