Here's a normal answer from a normal person: Finished the game (as in beat the final boss, with one friend in coop) after ~60 hours. At that point I feel 100% done with the game and bored as ♥♥♥♥ with the grind (which both of us were already at the ~40 hour mark).

That gametime also includes one restart because we nearly dropped the game at the 20 hour mark since we didn't look anything up on wikis and thought we soft-locked ourselves (died on mountains, didn't find a single crypt in the swamps). We restarted after reading the wikis because our seed felt tainted.

The answer is 120-350 hours. Unless you go way overboard with your builds and then you can add a 0. But you're probably wondering how long the game lasts if you go through all the content at a steady clip without taking too much time out for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around. In which case you're looking at 250-350 hours. Less than 250 is if you only build what you ABSOLUTELY need, but building a good setup for yourself is a big part of the game so almost everyone takes at least 250 hours to reach the very end.

If you enjoy collecting trophies from the monsters you kill and building you can enjoy it for as long as you like.

if your like to just rush your way through all the bosses so to speak you can beat the game with friends very quickly.

If you take your time by yourself and want to beat the game after getting all the upgrades and taking the linear path it will take you a few weeks.

I took my time the first play though with a ton of exploring and building and it still was under 100 hours. So claiming that a "normal" person will take 250-350 hours is absurd.

Ive been in one world for my whole playtime. But now Im burnt out and bored. Mining ore got so boring so quick. Its just too tedious and so many steps for a little bit.

Most of the game time is grinding or building if you like that
If you focus on minimal grinding , you can beat the game in 200 game days ( each day are like 30mins )

Plus don't forget about modded servers. Playing with some of those kept me busy for sure.

Lots, I have not seen so much content in an ea title (early access) since 7D2D.

It's pretty much as long as you make it.

You can just rush through the bosses and be done if that's all you want to do. That'll probably take you a day or two max, depending how much time you have to play and your general skill level.

But if you're interested in looking around the world, building, gathering, crafting and not just going from boss to boss, you can get anywhere from dozens to hundreds of hours of entertainment out of this game.

the game has and "end" and the devs will build one as the development process goes on
but technically one is able to do stuff to all eternity (of course at some point one had seen it all)

if you play the game slowly and dont rush like a maniac
you will have a nice long time of valheim gameplay

I have over 300 hours in the game and I have yet to beat the third boss. Out of the five in the game so far. Out of an announced planned total of nine.

Beware of the grind. I beat all the bosses and am sitting at 73 hours but the vast, vast majority of that time is just grinding materials for the next boss. And I spent a solid 5-10 hours building my base. It's an alright game, don't get me wrong. Just don't fall into the hype that the fanboys created. There just isn't much to be hyped about. However, take this with a grain of salt as I have not played in a while so didn't experience the Hearth and Home update (granted, that update is primarily just more building accessories).

I've got over 1200 hrs. in, have 3 worlds and defeated the 5 bosses on all of them and am still playing. I like to explore and look for fights. I'll probably start a 4th world in the next few weeks.
