If you go with no shield with low grar, low foods and fights them
Yeap , them gonna pretty much one shot you
Normal wolves are glass cannons , them get stunnes if you damage them fast 50% of their hp , but try no go prepared and not fight 3 at same time in low ground

You need upgraded crafting stuff to make it anyway.... if you just want to start the game in wolf armor you really need to just console it in for yourself.

I assume you can console in armor... well I suppose you could just use god mode and go in your underwear too... unless you just want that Zaphod Beeblebrox look.

You can also domesticate and farm wolves without making it a fight. Same for Lox which provide a good cape for mountain survival.

They won't one-shot you if you're not trying to fight them in low-quality armour, and even troll armour is good enough if you use parry. Just never go at night.

If you don't end up getting help with it, I can at least offer tips.

You can take them on with upgraded troll or iron armor without getting one shot, so as long as you aren't trying to get wolf armor long before you are meant to, you should be successful. Hunt during the day, the werewolves and stronger wolves come out at night. They can out-stamina you if you try to run when you are already using stamina just to maneuver around the mountains sometimes. I find it easiest to parry or block and attack directly, I've died more to running from wolves than I have from fighting them outright, but hey, a stamina mead doesn't hurt either. Always make sure you are rested, you recover better and all you need to bring that back up is about 30 seconds sitting next to a campfire, better shelters are just safer and give it for longer. Worth noting that wolves also don't jump, so there's the potential of using that rocky terrain to your advantage. Last but not least, a smaller mountain might actually be better if you are specifically hunting the wolves, they can still spawn but you are far less likely to encounter other mountain mobs like the golems or drakes which can make your overall hunt easier. You might still need larger mountains for other resources but you can stock up on the wolf materials separately if you wanted to.
