Strange. I just have lvl3 Troll, lvl3 Bronze buckler, and lvl2 Abyssal Razor. One star dragur are pretty easy. I have got into trouble in swamps if I go too fast and get a group of mobs on me.

It sounds like you don't have portals?

Im pretty sure enemies can crit and one hit you if your going back without armor or anything then ya they will keep one hitting you

I’d recommend keeping spare troll armor and lots of food for rescue missions. The sneak bonus and high health/stamina can make it a lot easier to retrieve your gear then run.

Starred creatures in the swamp and beyond really can hit like trucks. Take it out using stealth or load up with all your best HP food, armor and bonemass power and parry the sod.

Don't say that's literally all your gear in the grave.

just tried for 4th time with trol armour and a wraith was waiting by my longship. Didn't stand a chance. It really does feel like there's nothing I can do. One more go but knowing I've more loot lost than I can carry. Hope my ship is still there :)

Gotta learn to dodge roll sometime. Everything can be dodged.

This might be a rebuild and come back with silver situation

5th try! So full bronze (all I had left) a bronze mace, loads of health and stamina and 2 skeletons level 1 killed me for no reason. Game has decided I shouldn't play. Nothing left to go back there with so no a hope of getting my gear. On the way there I had 3 serpents all in shallow water, a storm then when trying to find my boat sudden mist. It feels like someone is watching and throwing everything at me to stop me getting my stuff. All of it is maxed and would take a week of non stop play to do again, so I guess it's goodbye to this game

I suggest attempting to out run the mobs. Use the elk boss power and load up on stam food. Get close to your death location during the day as to avoid the wraiths. Then run and gather your gear and don't put it back on until you've gotten back to a safe location. It's a strat I've used before. Works when brute force has failed.

we've all been there.. this game will get you back, don't worry about it

Well you could always cheat your stuff you lost then shut off cheats i know it might not be ideal but its either that or sounds like your ready to quit playing

have you ranked up any armor or just basic first level?

can you make another longboat and go serpent hunting?

If you get really stuck you can make a trail of tombstones carrying one item. When you recover a tombstone you get a buff that makes you very very hard to kill. So grab a tombstone for a bonus and make a run for your good stuff.

Use your best weapon ... your mind.
- nighttime? Wraiths and ** critters spawn. Daytime is much, much safer.
- Can't see in the fog/rain/blizzard/etc? Go grow some turnips or something. Bad time to meander through a dangerous place.
- A clear, sunshiney day with your best gear, food, shield, etc all ready to go? Now is the time. Go get your stuff, carefully. If you see something, shoot it full of fire arrows and backpedal until its dead. If you don't see anything, proceed carefully.

As you recover stuff, haul it back to your portal and chest safe spot nearby. Don't risk losing it again, just get it back home and then go get more.

Dude, do you want help? You're banging your head against a wall. It would not take a week to max out your gear again, doesn't matter what it is. It would take like 2 hours. So accept some help or "start over". Losing stuff or needing to make an effort to get strong enough to retrieve it is part of the game.

When I died on the mountains for the 3rd time in a row, as a new player, I decided I will do something else. So I did for the next few in-game days. Then I went up to the same mountain, but from a different side, using a different strategy. Eventually, I built a castle on top of that mountain and I got my gear from the corpse that laid there about two in-game weeks ago. By then, I had better gear, but I kept what I looted as a fourth set of back-ups.

At the swamp, I died once and figured I need to be more patient. So, I built a base on the outskirts of the swamp, with a portal, a moat, and an enclosed docks for my karve. A few in-game days later, I made my way into the swamp with my bow and fire arrows. I made sure to bring Stam Stam Health foods, and made sure I wasn't jumping all over the place. I also made sure to bring poison resist. Etc, etc, etc.

Anyway to cut a long story short. Got to learn to adapt. Got to learn to let go. Got to learn to do other things in a game with an infinite number of paths. If you treat an open world survival game like a 2D side scrolling action game with only one path, one ending, one method, then you're just going to keep dying.
